Hello, thank you very much, and by the way I will tell you about the hot key of the other mod that you recommend.
I used your mod before for one of those immersive needs which didn't leave any after a while and now I use it again for the SkyrimSouls - Unpaused Game Menus(SKSE Plugin) mod. I also downloaded Sometimes Pick Up Book by Mardoxx and CDCooley, but there is a detail, the other mod has hot key settings to use by default "pick up or read", the thing is that it also affects your mod, I use mod manager so you just have to change the place in ithe load order.

Is there an equivalent to this on SE?

That's awesome, you don't have to answer unless you have time/care to. But how do I go about extracting a BSA? Do I go to the skyrim folder and just put it there? I'll google search a bit to see if I can figure it out too.

I extracted the folders out the BSA and put it in the data folder, didn't work in-game.

So I have noticed two things about this mode that very much annoy me and I think I have a solution for one of them (more of a personal preference) if I can solve the other one. Let me elaborate.

I use a controller for Skyrim simply due to how much better the movement is with an analog stick.
I would like to set it up so when I hold LB on a controller while my weapon is sheathed and activate an object I use it.
When I tried to set this up with the current mod as is and I set the hot key and disable toggle mode (meaning I have to hold the key) and test I get the prompt to use the item for about half a second before it disappears as such the only way this mod is usable with a controller is to set it to toggle mode which works however is not really what I wanted.
The second problem is a know issue with the prompt taking 0.3 seconds to show up. As such I would rather just not have the text which would work as expected if I could hold the button and get what I wanted but if I have to toggle then not having the text would mean I couldn't tell which mode I am in so before I go modifying the script to get rid of the text I 100% NEED the controller with the hold button working.

Based on the way the mod reacts it would seem as if it is not getting a sustained input from my controller and only triggering as if the button was pressed for one second and the delay of 0.3 on then 0.3 off is how the text shows up very briefly however timing it to get it to work would be near impossible.

Now I use a custom controller map which could be the problem. When I hold RB it changes the functions of my A, B X, Y and DPAD which could be the problem? (Here is the file for reference https://hastebin.com/mosucaquvi.txt)

If that isn't the problem then my only other idea would be to modify the script so it toggles the use item for 0.5s-1s (not sure yet) when the hold mode is enabled. Not the best solution but I don't have any other work around ideas. I really would like some feedback to fix this. If you know anyway to test why the hold down isn't working that is really what I need. Reviewing the code it looks like it's a problem with OnKeyUp. I see the wait time is there which would explain why it flashes in a way that I can notice however why is OnKeyUp even triggering when the button is still held down? Seems like this is a bug with SKSE or a conflict with it and my controller map. Ideas?

Once the hold key on controller is working I can simply comment out the change text from the script and we will be off to the races.

    Update:
Here is my attempt at removing the prompt changing. https://hastebin.com/imiwulipud.psc
It simply removes the lines that would change the prompt.

Would it be possible to make a non-skse version that tied the input to the run/walk button as opposed to a changeable hotkey? The Ultimate Dodge Mod for instance has an input check without skse. I would greatly appreciate it, as would most all of the special edition users.

      No.
      1) The way user-input are detected by the dodge mod is tied to the behaviors, can't do that here.
      2) That wouldn't help at all with the fact that SKSE is needed to change the UI.

Okay, thank you for the quick reply, what about making it a power and foregoing the UI change? I would definitely be willing to switch out a shout for this useful ability.

The SKSE version would of course be superior, but a power version would be a godsend for the SE version.

Making intrusive (spell) and counter-intuitive (no ui prompt) mods is the exact opposite of the mods I like to make/use, especially with this one (do "opening your magic menu and equipping then casting a spell" really feel more natural to you than "getting the thing in your inventory and then using it" ? T_T).

If you want to make it and upload it to SSE, you're welcome to do so though. But I won't.

I definitely understand that, the mod you have is already far superior to that suggestion.

I definitely would consider being able to hotkey the ability to use items in the world to be more immersive than not being able to use items in the world at all though.

Thanks again for the quick response.

Hmm, sorry I just realized I was pretty ambiguous in my final message, I meant hotkeying the hypothetical power would be preferable to no such functionality in SE.

Hello Kesta. I suppose your mod is compatible/complementary with I'm a Customer Dammit by tweaking the MCM of both mods. But It would be good if you can confirm if it is secure to use both mods together. Thanks.

Great mod! Maybe make all the options toggle-able/toggable/togglable/however this is spelled?

Does this mod require SKSE for functionality or just for MCM? Wondering if this will work as a simple port to SSE.

Fully based on SKSE, there is no way a hotkey-based mod would work without it.

hey up! Kesta, im having an issue with this mod.
instead of Taking stuff it's consuming them. by default. when I hover over a fruit or a Potion of Healing it puts "Take" but when i press E to take them, it consumes them, everything. so apparently its not taking any options on the Shift command and just eating all. with or without shift (Actually, when i press Shift it shows the Eat word so it works but somehow it replaced the defult acion too!)
MCM is showing properly but cant change any options on it. already tryed reinstalling. erasing it al land again ad again. couldn't find a solution

    What am I doing wrong?

    HAALP!

You just didn't update and is still using v1.0, update to latest version (v1.1)
Consider using NMM or MO as mod manager, they automatically give warnings when a newer version is uploaded on Nexus so you don't miss this kind of critical hotfixes.
