Nice size place. Love the Alduin statue and Talos as well. but it is so empty. Though i love lots of space, it does not have much decor or an option to add decor. Or is there an option? I didn't see any if there were. I may as well run the Pale quests to get my own place to build at this rate. And yea. the balcony is a trap lol. Of course one can just fast travel back down to the front door LOL. But, yea put more work into this big pretty castle and people will adore it. :)
I have been on this game far too long and I am looking for a place to set up my guild mod. This is perfect to house my 30-40 followers that can all fit into one room. I love the idea of a "no law" zone where I can do as I like. Also the separate cells will be perfect of my mod heavy game and will be in one room most of the time. Glad to see something other than "lore friendly" home for I seen it to death although I can see this style being a thing in game. To everyone else one word .... WIP. will be back to see where is goes. Great job and hope you keep it up.
The idea is cool, but the delivery is not. The first thing I noticed was the door looking a bit off, which isn't a problem really, and when I opened up, it clipped through the wall. No black space like vanilla doors which is rather forgivable if it wasn't like that for every single door in the building. Every time I open a door, it clips or reveals some rather ugly space that looks like ill rendered buildings. You'd be better off making it all one big area. Another problem with doors is once I go to the balcony, I can't get back in through the same door and have to jump down to go back through the main area.
All that being said, there's some merit to the mod. The main hall opens up to the beautiful dragon statue and a very uniquely laid out crafting area. That gives away to a cool stretch of hallway with tons of mannequins and weapon racks. But even then the dragon statue's tail clips through the floor.
It needs a lot of work, and if you make most of it one big area and raise the statue up a little higher, plus extra decor, it should be better.
While I did uninstall the mod, I give you credit for building it. I enjoy games, but have never built a mod and would have no idea where to begin. I can see you put quite a lot of work into it. The good: the placement on the map is ideal for such an ambitious build. The view from the top balcony is stunning. The concept of full ownership and ability to control law and order separate from the vanilla game is an excellent addition. This might even make a good mod by itself. I can see what your overall concept for the design was, however, my suggestion is to perhaps focus on the main structure (the outside walls) and let that dictate the interior of the structure. I got the sense that you built each room first and let that dictate the overall structure. For me it was the separate loading screens that I found to be the most troublesome. Smaller issues were just the placement of doors and walls that did not always seem to fit together, rooms that seemed to big for their purpose and random components that did not fit into the design. The top floor balcony for instance; the door seemed to be an afterthought and did not fit into the design. It just kind of floats there. It seems to me that your influence is heavily into the later Renaissance period in England. This was a time when wealthy nobles would build manor houses that were not quite castles. They after all did not want not want to have a home larger and nicer than the King. I would suggest researching these manor houses as this appears to be more of what you are looking to build. I do hope you continue to work on an develop your mod. I can see that there is a lot of potential. Best of luck. FireFlite57
TBH, wouldn't recommend this. My (vanilla) music turns off when I enter, and because it's so empty it just becomes creepy, and the building isn't even that good to begin with. A lot of rooms have a lot of unnecessary empty space, and each room is completely seperate from the other. (like, a load screen for a room no bigger than Breezehome.) Upon walking in, it was clear to me that this wasn't going to be all that much, as the decor was kind of just placed there at the door.
this looks so structurally unstable with all those big rooms with no center support not to mention anything higher than 3 stories has to be built with steel or stone
i know that but for immersion reasons i wouldn't even go near that house regardless im not saying this is a bad mod it's a pretty good one but for realism sakes i would rather be killed by a dragon than my house falling on me lol
I am laughing so hard at these comments xD, and yes I did go VERY overboard with the mod in terms of visuals of the home (its suppose to be overwhelmingly big) sorry for not being immersive enough lmao
well who knows, maybe the world of Elder Scrolls has some kind of Iron Wood Tree's even though their namesake they have wood as hard as steel? Or magically enchanted Wood? People throw fireballs, lightning, animate the dead, giant dragons that breathe/ speak fire. Personally it looks awesome, and in the realm of fantasy for me.. especially when you get that quest from the Daedric Prince of Secrets... the dimension of floating.. everything... I remember that once again magic exists so rules of physics don't apply..
Because lets face it, how many times can I get hacked with a two-handed axe and survive without armor... really.. none... but in Skyrim.. its 5.
