Looks very interesting, indeed. I've edited the housecarls myself for personal use, to better reflect their holds and would really like to know what changes to which housecarl your mod provides, maybe making my changes obsolete. I mean, it's one thing to equip the housecarls with with matching uniforms, but this is just a cosmetic change considering most of them are tanks with stats for heavy armor, 1H+Shield and all the same behaviour.
For example, I've changed Iona from Riften to reflect a more rogue-like character, using light armor, 1H dual wielding, archery and - of course - stealth while lower her other skills to keep it balanced and equipped her with the basics: hold armor, steel sword, steel dagger and hunting bow. I gave *all* housecarls the perk light foot because the game has no (fine working) way for steering them around traps and in some places there's simply no way to walk around traps even if the commands would be precise enough.
That said, I don't thing housecarls are too weak. I play the game on Legendary difficulty with tons of mods to make enemies harder to defeat and they do just fine. But vanilla housecarls lack variety and personality and with most of them it doesn't matter which one accompanies you, because they're all the same.
In future updates, I intend to edit the stats to bring housecarls up-to-date with their equipment changes. I like the idea of adding a mage/spellsword and a rogue housecarl, to mix up the sorts of combat builds available.
