There has been a lot of value criticism on this mod, the VAST majority of it being well constructed. I have heard all your complaints, and I'll be ignoring them all... Just kidding. I've made huge mistakes with this mod, one of them was not loading all the ESMs, and the USLEEP before starting making changes, which created a ton of conflicts. I could delete all the negative (by negative I mean criticism) and leave all the praises, and pretend everything's just great and march into the sunset with a pack of bananas and two margaritas in my hands. But instead I'll admit my faults. I fucked up. I'll start (already did) my work from scratch, now I'll be 10x more strict in which things I mess with and those I don't. I'll be releasing 3 different versions of the same mod. So there's no conflicts with ELFX and other lighting mods. mods that alter the meshes and USLEEP Itself. That's all.
My comments could be feel as harsh but I value your work, I was trying to be constructive not only bad criticism. I'm sorry if you felt my comments were harsh ones.
I haven't currently got my modded Skyrim up and running, but when I do I'll definitely be downloading this mod. Great work and I really appreciate your effort! Tracking for now.
Well at least you took it well. Also at least the comments were constructive criticism rather than just complete rubbish hate comments. Good luck in your endeavors, I can't wait to see the new version when you finish!
cool. hopefully you'll be done in 24hrs since my weekend start then. bhwhaha. just kidding. good luck and god speed. i've been reinstalling skyrim over the last month so i figure another week is okay. lol
Just remember: all the power users in here discussing and/or complaining about the need to patch actually consider what you did do with this mod to be valuable enough to go to the effort. If it weren't a well done mod that people would WANT to have in their load order, no one would care enough to complain! In a way, regardless of poor manners in some cases, all of these people are paying you a compliment.
Have fun mate. I use MO (which every serious modder should use), I had yours lower in the load order, after USLEEP, it overwrote some things in USLEEP but I was prepared to accept it. I didn't run into problems in game but that might have something to do with the mods I have installed (?) I'll say this, you're a better man than me, I don't think I'd have the patients to attempt what your doing !!!I'm still trying to do an overhaul of the player homes in Hearthfire - Falkreath, Hjaalmarch and The Pale. I'll finish one day !!!! :-) lol
M8, it wasn't clear in your description if you are familiar with the program, but do yourself a favor and load USLEEP and your mod up in TES5Edit and it will CLEARLY show you the conflicts so you can save yourself a lot of grief. You can easily make the edits there and then. This will keep you from introducing any new errors in the CK. Keep the faith, you are doing great work here.
Ya' really ought to sticky this so people stop asking if it's compatible. But holy crap dude, good reaction. "I screwed up... again... but I've already started painstakingly fixing it." You've been incredibly patient with this mod, in all its forms, and it shows real dedication. You just REALLY want Whiterun to look physically correct, and you're prepared to do anything to make that happen. Awesome. Maybe your story of volition will inspire others to continue your work in the other cities. A man can dream. Seriously though, take the criticism as a compliment. It means that those people believe your vision is worth the extra effort, and that compatibility between this and USLEEP would be so stupendously glorious that it's worth at least one more try. I agree with them.
You might not want to include the version number in the esp name. I've just updated from 1.6 to 1.8, and now, I've got to re-run DynDOLOD, because the esp name no longer matches what it's expecting. :-| In about half an hour, I can check out the changes. ;-)
I'm also going to get a "missing ESP" error, next time, because the game won't be able to find 1.6.
Look like no one post anything here for several months. So I just want to let you know that I'm still waiting and tracking your mod. Can't wait to see your work compatible with USLEEP.
1. dragonsreach fire, people standing there have no shaodw, did you notice that?
2. about firedamagebox, i see you add these boxes to cells, they are very good. but here are two problems -there's already a mod "fire hurt" has similar function, if they work together... -i prefer your solution to haddle fire damage, but it will be strange that only whiterun fire has damage, what to do with other places of skyrim?
That's because I marked the light sources as "modified" in this mod, it's a know problem that I WILL fix in my next release of this mod.
Since I moved the light source a bit, any mods that edit the lights settings that come BEFORE it get "reset"by my mod, ie to the settings it uses. Again, I will be fixing this, rest assured my friend.
Yeah, the fire box damage thing is a good idea, but it had a problem and that is that one. As far as I know, once you're hit by the damage box, even if there's 50 in the same exact location, the engine only "records" 1 of them doing damage, since there's like an invisibility thing so you don't get constantly burned. My nexT update will leave all these things OPTIONAL. Peace.
Did you even read the FAQ ? He never said he didn't like USLEEP (and he was very clear about that!) he simply disagrees with some decisions they made, which I've heard from other authors as well. He also explained that USLEEP is compatible with this mod as his mod simply overwrites a few values from USLEEP but everything else gets carried over from USLEEP, so you can of course use both mods together.
DId you even read the post from the author, literally, like couple lines down? Elrizzo? The current offering is NOT USLEEP compatible, and very little in your post is remotely true. The FAQ itself contains many inaccuracies, regardless of what they assert. You can use both together of course, but as things currently stand v1.8, this mod reverts a great many other bug fixes USLEEP has already addressed. He is working on new, and actually compatible versions he tells us, so we'll have to see wont we? v1.8 contains many edits that revert bugs that USLEEP fixes, alongside this mods actual improvements.
The author should have stickied the post, but that's still no excuse for you jumping the Atoro as you are one that is badly mis-informed about the current state of affairs.
Anyone that cannot wait: make a tesedit merge patch of usleep and this mod, and manually inspect it. It's not that hard, less than 15 minutes. Let me get the tutorial video.
No, I did not see that and was going of the statements made in the FAQ on the description page, which seems was a bit careless of me .
I am NOT responsible for inaccuracies regarding statements made by the mod author and can only take what he says and work with that, which I did and tried to help answer the question that Atoro10 asked, nothing more, nothing less.
Aside from the fact that I didn't 'jump' on anyone in my post and my tone was not in any shape or form aggressive or otherwise hostile, I was simply correcting his assumption that DDVIL didn't 'like' USLEEP which was not stated anywhere in the FAQ, he simply disagrees with some fixes and their implementations while making very clear how much he respects the work USLEEP does.
I may have been misinformed, but again, I can only work with statements by the mod author for information about compatability etc. (it is of course my fault for not seeing his latest post), which I did to try and help answer Atoro's question. If said information is wrong and I don't have personal knowledge in that subject which lets me know that he is wrong I have to work under the assumption that the mod author knows what he is doing/saying which is the case here as I am not a mod author myself nor have I done much work with TES5Edit.
I hope this clears this up, as it was not my intention to attack anyone with this post (and I still don't see how it can be read as such) but to simply answer a question which itself was answered by the FAQ, hence my question if said FAQ was read before posting the question, but I guess it was my own mistake for not noticing the mod authors update post a few posts below
thanks, tonycubed! i think this mod might be my sole motivation in learning how to use the merged option...i haven't gotten close to the maximum mod limit for skyrim yet so wasn't too interested in it until now
ahhh...i ran the merged patch but i don't see the whiterun bug fix listed in the masters...that video isn't showing specific merging stuff if you intended that to be described.
sry i'm a bit confused. You're fixes look really awesome, but as we all know a modded skyrim can almost not work without usleep, so can I use you're great mod with usleep and still keep changes like assigning barrels to the right owner?
You have to wait for a USLEEP compatible version. It's a real shame he didn't make it that way in the first place, and that he didn't know they would be incompatible, but at least he's going through and fixing it now. He's reacting to his little blunder much better than most modders would, and just fixing it rather than deleting comments and, like he proposed in his comment on the matter, riding off into the sunset with two margaritas.
First of all, GREAT Mod ! You did a fantastic job of fixing so many little (or not so little^^) things in Whiterun, it is truly awesome and very much appreciated ! . One small question though, is this intended as a replacement for your 'Comprehensive Whiterun Bug Fix' mod or should it be loaded alongside of it ? I'm fairly certain it's the former, but I just wanna make sure
And once again thank you very much for making your hard work available to us and don't get discouraged by some dumb little ****s on reddit or anywhere else who don't have a clue about modding but talk trash anyway, they are not worth your or anyones time
My thanks on your time for this good work You and I share one thing, Making this game work better for all, and see its full on display as it was intended to be! I too like to fix the things that are out of place or are misplace in the world! I saw what you done to Whiterun, wow it would of taken a lot of time to fix all these faults! Kudos to you and Many more to come
