Oh wow. This mod is perfect. I wanted coloured markers to make the important ones stand out, and recolouring all of them made the map even harder to read from all the bright colours competing for attention. This is exactly what I've been looking for. For years. YEARS. I even tried making it myself, but was stalled from modding programmes requiring real money to package files. I don't know what it took so long to find, but I'm here now. I'm home.
If you have SkyUI it should work fine. SkyUI does have that folder, it's just that it is in the .BSA. The overrides are loaded after the BSA, so this is overriding a file you can't directly see. Leave the file architecture as-is.
Thank you snackrat, it was a mistake on my side, the failed previous installs from any mode prevents new installs, I keep forgetting to deal with them in NMM
Unless the mod has anything to do with the map graphics, there is no way it could conflict. All this mod does is color the map markers, nothing else at all.
I know exactly what your mod does. I'm just saying that sometimes there's a repetitive cycle of the same kinds of mods over and over. I am holding absolutely nothing against you, my frustration is geared more towards my own lack of a need for this type of mod.
One of the reasons why I have several custom armors I made myself was because there wasn't anything here that I liked enough to waste 0s and 1s on. As such, I empathise with your reasoning for making this, it's just that...I dunno. Never mind.
I think I understand your frustration, and it's a pretty common one. There are often discussions about the plethora of skimpy armors or pretty followers that use the same vanilla voices and AI. Even more aggravating to many, especially authors who worked hard on mods that went largely ignored, is the large number of downloads and endorsements those type of mods generally get. For better or worse, the latter is the reason for the former, they wouldn't keep getting made if people weren't downloading and endorsing them. I am of the mind that I won't criticize a free candy shop just because they stock some things I don't personally use. I gratefully take the things I like, and just ignore the rest.
In the case of this mod, here is its full story: I asked on Reddit if anyone knew of a mod or other method to make quest markers stand out on the map. Some suggested various existing mods, most of which I had tried already but removed because I found the colors of all the markers distracting and counterproductive to my desired purpose. So I did some research along with some trial and error and figured out how to get what I wanted. I posted in the same thread what I made in case someone else wanted it, expecting maybe a couple. I got many, so decided to put it here to make it easier for them to get.
I honestly expected to have no more than maybe 20 downloads and a handful of endorsements if that, and certainly not to ever be one of the "hot files". I am very glad that it ended up being a lot more simply because that means a lot of people apparently felt that this would in some small way enhance their enjoyment of an awesome game, and I feel good about facilitating that.
Yeah I don't see the issue. I'd prefer a lighter colored map marker mod than a full on one. Thanks for making this pressure. Any chance we can request alternative colors? Or perhaps fill us in on how to edit the RGB values?
I'd be happy to take requests, at least until the trial period for SWF Quicker expires. I tried a few swf editors and found this one the easiest. As someone who had never edited a swf before, it was pretty easy to figure out with it.
No one is forcing you to even view this page, ZurinArctus85-- much less use this addon.
"Why" isn't even a valid question. You either like it or don't, want to use it or don't-- but there's no reason to question "why" someone does something for free, and uploads it for others to use _for_free_. Literally no one on this site needs to justify their work to you or me.
Why? S/he did it because s/he wanted, because s/he could. S/he shared it because s/he thought someone else would also like it - and s/he was obvious right considering the 2K plus downloads. No other reason is necessary. It's a mod, don't like it, don't use it. Period.

this is minimal and just perfect
other map markers is too much, too cluttered
Thank you.
Can't find it anywhere.
I've googled it and also looked it up on SKY_UI's GItHub repo but it seems to appear there only as a mention.
will endorse as soon as I can.
