Note: I am strongly thinking about the same kind of mod for the steel armor set and silver ring/necklace. I have also found a mod named CopyArmor that can copy stats if you wish to use the stats on other armor sets. Not sure if this works for weapons/Fragcil (yet) though!
I'm sorry for my late response, I've been away from skyrim for a while. But I believe so, it works the same way for my Silver Smithing Mod. If it did work, would you be so kind as to confirm? Though I'm 99% sure that it should work properly.
could you make a loos file folder with textures and meshed for each stage so that we can make it change its model each time you lvl it up like i would make my sword look more evil with each upgrade, like a way we can use models and textures of our choosing
Cool idea. Only I don't even know how to make 1 custom sword, let alone 31. I think I'll try finding someone who can help with at least 3 models; the first neutral stage, the good sword and the evil one.
I don't really know if this would work, but it's a thought. You know how Skyrim lets you pick your character's weight? Well, in reality, there are only two player models, and the game just uses approximate "morphs" between them (A character with 20 out of 100 weight would be between the two models, and much farther away from the large one than the small one). It'd be neat if that could somehow be applied to Fragcil, which could give the illusion of a sword which very gradually gets more good or evil. Like, when the sword is upgraded, an invisible "evilness" or "goodness" slider gets moved, raising the sword to the next morph, eventually raising the sword to one of its highest, best looking levels. The downsides of this approach are, of course, difficulty of implementation and the fact that the three swords would have to look very similar to morph correctly.
As soon as I read the mod description of the sword - "extension of your soul", I was reminded of a book intro I'd read recently. A Shardblade fits that description. I'm very interested in reading the books of that series. Yes. You need a nice model to go with the mechanic's of this mod. Like, say, shadow reaver...Lots of pretty blade mods, few with gameplay mechanics to accompany them. :/
They're ridiculously overpowered swords from the Stormlight franchise. Infused with basically as much magic as one could possibly hope to use and reflective of the wielder's soul. In terms of design, they're clearly meant to look cool rather than practical, which kind of irks me, but I guess a magic sword doesn't have to be practical, does it?
The shardblades look horrendously unwieldy. Fragcil, at the moment, is just a steel sword, and thus looks perfectly normal. If you do get around to either making or acquiring a mesh for it, maybe you could use something that looks both practical and cool? It's not an impossible combination of things, and Skyrim lacks sorely in the way of realistic, powerful weapons. In the vanilla game, my choices are to use something that looks effective (ie Steel weapons and maybe Dwarven ones), or something that actually IS effective (ie Daedric, Glass), and I think Fragcil could alleviate that a bit.
Its a great idea but it needs an epic mesh, the standard in game sword mesh just doesn't make it feel like a rare special sword mate, just my thoughts .
I actually kind of feel the same way, too, but I have no idea how to do this. I will have to find someone who does and who is also willing to do this for me.
Well there are plenty of weapon meshes that are free for modders to use usually marked as resources, maybe one of those or try to contact some of the weapon makers on hear, anyway nest of luck ill keep an eye on this .
very nice. would be awesome to make it compatible with all perk overhauls just by changing the lvl system to use the sword skill level and not the perks themselves
Thanks for the ss. I already have a more extensive mod for bows :p I use these 2 (and actually all my own mods) in conjunction. Glad I could enspire you to make something
If it scales along the skill level itself, it would be compatible right? I am probably not going to dive into making patches, but making it scale along the One Handed skill level instead of perks may be something I can figure out how to do.
Thanks. Actually, it wasn't so bad. It's a pretty simple mod under the hood and I started making it as an example for an easy one, as you can see in the attached video.
Figuring out how to make a custom model for it, or finding someone who wants to do it for me, is going to take a lot longer, I reckon.

You mean Fragcil is designed to look cool, or the ones you were just talking about (I think the latter, as Fragcil is a Steel Sword atm)?
