About this mod

This mod adds a twist to the Steel Sword. You can make it grow with the player, along a good and an evil route. It grows with One Handed skill (no perks anymore)

Permissions and credits
Fragcil: The Soulbound gear can be found here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/78873/?
This version adds the Steel Armor set and silver ring and necklace to upgrade in the same manner as the sword; only the sword has 2 paths to take though!
- ALSO: CopyArmor does not work for weapons, but the Steel Armor can get its stats copied over to new gear. Stats, enchantments, armor class, everything: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33902/?

Version 3 increases compatibility with other mods and rebalances Fragcil.
As of now, all crafting recipes will show up when the player reaches the required skill level, without having to pick perks. This makes sure that as long perk mods don't change the 'onehanded' actor value reference, my mod will be able to read your skill level and add your crafting recipes.
You now need to have a skill level of 25 to craft Fragcil for the first time. After that, new recipes will be unlocked after every 5 skill level increases, so at 30, 35, 40.... 95, 100.
The balance for the weapons has been changed to suit these crafting changes. You will with skill 30 be able to make your choice, good or evil, but you will also only get 4 undead damage or 4 seconds of soul trapping. Skill level 35 is one of the biggest changes, as there you will have 8 undead damage + 8 fire damage, or 8 seconds of soul trap + 8 hp drain. From then on, every recipe increases all numbers with 4 every time, still resulting in 60 when maxed out.

Also, speed and critical damage have been changed. With a skill level of 30 nothing will happen. In 35, you get 1% extra swing speed on the good version. Then 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, 45% and 50%.
For evil, every new recipe, starting from 35 will have 1 extra critical damage. The steel sword starts at 4, so skill 35 will give you 5, then 6, 7, 8, 9... 17, 18. Previously it jumped to critical 10 around evil phase five. And stayed there. Now this, too, has more progression to it.

Oh, right. Because one doesn't need to buy perks anymore, the Incantation scroll is more expensive now. I wanted to bump it up with a big number, but I restrained myself. If you guys want it to be more expensive, tell me and I will bump the price up some more.

Enjoy the update! :D

All 2.0 and general information below:

This mod makes the Steel Sword grow along with the player. Plain and simple. You can make it good, or evil, or you can just make a good and evil one at the same time.

'Fragcil' means fire, in a story I once wrote myself. This formed the base of my mod (the main character is Diabor and he utilizes Magic, so... DiaborMagics is and always will be my IGN).

Rather than making a flaming sword, I wanted something else. So I made a weapon that grows as the player grows. So, how do you get it and what are your options? Well, simple.

1: Get a silver sword. There are plenty. No need for smithing perks, if you don't want those.
2: Go to Farengar in Dragonsreach. He'll be selling 999 scrolls called 'Incantation of Fragcil'. You can use those scrolls in combat, since I made them weak fire storms, but I'd use them to create Fragcil, if I were you.
3: Buy one or more Incantation scrolls.
4: Get to a forge, with both ingredients in your inventory.
5: Create Fragcil! - This will still be a regular Steel Sword, but with 0 weight. And a different name. No kidding :p
6: Go train your one handed skill and earn perks. - levels, no perks as of version 3

There are 31 'new' weapons, or rather, versions of the steel sword in this mod. Every time you gain a perk in One Handed, not including axe- and mace-specific perks, your Fragcil will get a free upgrade at the forge. YOU CANNOT TEMPER FRAGCIL! The upgrades you get are good enough, in my opinion. If you happen to use a mod like 'Loot and Degradation' and fear breaking your Fragcil, simply set it as unique through its MCM.

The perk progression is pretty natural. Should you find yourself unable to uprgrade fragcil after picking a perk, then pick another one. Chances are you'll be able to advance 2 stages at once, since you didn't pick them in order. Generally, you should pick the lowest perks in the perk tree, with the lowest skill level requirements first.

So, Fragcil is created. You have your first perk. Now what? Well, now you choose: Good or Evil.

2 Recipes should appear: Fragcil: Good Phase One and Fragcil: Evil Phase One. If you have more than one Fragcil, you can upgrade to both if you wish, to dual wield good and evil and get yourself a case of equilibrium.

After choosing your path and earning more perks, you will only be able to upgrade the weapon you've chosen to follow the path for. However, you can always craft a fragcil from scratch; one with any level you have unlocked. So, if you have the appropriate perks for, say, Good Phase Seven, you just gather the materials to craft a Steel Sword (2 Steel Ingot, 1 Iron Ingot, 1 Leather Strip) and you also make sure you have an Incantation of Fragcil in your inventory. BOOM! All options you've unlocked become visible at the forge. Easy peasy.

So, you can go like this:

Steel Sword - vanilla
Fragcil - 0 weight Steel Sword

Fragcil: Good Phase One - Good Phase Fifteen (Maxed) - gets 50% bonus swing speed along the way, maxed out it will do 60 extra base damage against undead and 60 base fire damage to anything.

Fragcil: Evil Phase One - Evil Phase Fifteen (Maxed) - gets almost double the critical hit power along the way, maxed out it will drain 60 hp from the opponent and cast soul trap for 60 seconds.

You can disenchant every single level of both good and evil fragcil and put the enchantments on any weapons of your choosing. Just keep the following in mind:

- Only the original fragcils are weightless. Putting the enchantments on other weapons will not make those weightless.
- Only the original fragcils benefit from extra swing speed and critical damage. Putting the enchantments on other weapons will not make those faster, nor will they get higher critical damage.
- Only the original fragcils have almost infinite charge (so long as the enchanting system doesn't glitch. This happens in vanilla, too, I don't know how to fix it. Sometimes your weapon will be drained from all of its power, despite you still having about 30.000 swings left. Fragcil has about 65.000 swings as charge). Putting the enchantment on other weapons will drain them slower than vanilla weapons, but they will still be drained a lot faster than Fragcil itself.
- Only fragcil itself can be upgraded. Disenchanting it means you will have to create a new one if you wish to disenchant the next level and put the more powerful enchantments on other weapons as you progress.

In other words, Fragcil is special. And you do not need to disenchant it, even if it's a mere Steel Sword. It WILL be worth keeping nonetheless.

Installation:

I recommend you use Mod Organizer, but dropping the .esp file into your Skyrim/Data folder is enough.
You only need Skyrim, nothing else. No DLC, no SKSE, no SkyUI.

Uninstalling:

I never recommend uninstalling .esp files. Think of them like houses of cards. Pull one out and it's destroyed. Still, if you wish to do it, there are no scripts and I edited nothing from vanilla. You should be fine.

Compatibility:

Version 3:
It should be way more compatible with popular perk mods/overhauls now. As long as my mod can get its info from the player's One Handed skill level.

Version 2:
I can't see it being incompatible with anything, other than that it may be overpowered for some overhaul mods. I probably won't be making any patches though, sorry. If there are any serious issues with something, let me know and I'll see if I can fix it on my end. I might make the sword scale along the skill level itself, once I figure out how to actually do that.
Obviously, it's not compatible alongside any mod that changes the vanilla (One Handed) perks. I somehow overlooked this last night, I can thank CiceroTheFoolish for reminding me. So thank you! :D
