Using Jaxonz Renamer on a container marked with an asterisk results in the asterisk disappearing. I don't know if that means the container is no longer safe, or if it's simply unrecognized by this mod.
Meanwhile, copying, picking up, and dropping a new chest via Jaxonz Positioner seems to preserve this mod's asterisk indication, and limited testing reveals the containers stay safe.
I used this mod with Jaxonz Positioner to essentially build a whole player house with salvaged items and used this mod to make sure that I was picking up and taking safe containers only to put in the house. I was a little worried as well that it may just be copying the asterisk but loosing the safe storage flag, but I went through a whole playthrough with none on the chests in my new house resetting and losing my stuff. I know that its not conclusive proof but I would be confident doing it again if that helps.
I'm going to be that guy in the comment section that you always see in the forums and ask.. will this mod be updated to special edition? I modded my skyrim to death and decided to make the change to special and I love this mod to much haha
Thank you for doing so it really does help! But I will ask, did you have to do anything special? Or do I just download it like I would on regular old skyrim?
It shouldn't require any update for SSE. But you could do a form 44 update by loading it in CK and saving. It shouldn't be necessary since only containers were affected and containers weren't changed for SSE.
This mod deserves way more prominence/recognition than it has received so far.
Like it says in the description: it's amazing just how many containers are safe to store things in. Far more than are listed on any wiki.
Up until now, I've always had a vague unease while playing -- always scared to put any items into containers, because, in the base game: I need to put a junk item into a container, wait 1 week (or, to be absolutely certain, 2 weeks) and then check if my item vanished, before placing anything there.
This mod fixes that -- now I can play without having to worry about the silly "respawning items may override my stash" mechanic, meaning that I can find any suitable place to stash stuff. This means I need to spend way less time in inventory management, AND, it means I can find any place I like and make it my "base of operations" even if the game didn't intend for it to be my player home.
This is great! I love the freedom that this mod gives me.
As a final bonus, it apparently doesn't even run scripts. That's a good feature.
All it does is add a relatively non-intrusive asterisk to containers in the world. (Good thing it doesn't glow like Unread Books Glow -- that would be disturbingly intrusive, and unnecessary.)
Primarily, if I were to explain in one word what this mod gives you; it's a small sample of Freedom. Freedom to set a home in many more places than the game says you can, and freedom to unload your backpack without losing all of your stuff.
In my opinion, this mod is a great concept, with great execution.
If the player home is added by a mod, probably. If the home is from the base game, probably not. I do know that not all containers in all player homes are safe.
Perfect If you don't want to install Dynamic Things but still want to store your stuff without fast traveling back and forth. I like to prevent having to fast travel to be able to get back to my questing in a certain area far from Whiterun asap.

Of course, now you've reminded me about this mod. I need to officially port it. This would make a good esl.
