Sorry if this is an obvious question, but can it be assumed that this is incompatible with the Hunterborn patch for CACO (Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul)? I'm trying to get Requiem, CACO and Hunterborn to all play nice with each other, but this and the CACO patch have a lot of incompatibilities.
Hey, I was messing around in TESedit, and noticed that this patch uses the wrong Nutrition compared to how Requiem does it. This doesn't harm anything mechanically, but makes the item tool tip wrong.
A piece of food should say in its description that it restores X stamina and X magicka as long as you're out of combat, but due to using the wrong effect, the items effected say that they simply give +X nutrition.
That nutrition effect is what is used for Raw Foods in base Requiem, so it's placement there is correct.
Small bug/error, but one that you should be aware of! Looking forward to more, thanks.
Some of the magnitude values (amount to restore for stamina, health) are a bit off too But Requiem 1.9.4 gets these wrong anyways...e.g. eating potato can hurt if not a wood-elf but not eating carrot?
For those who wish to patch on their own the issue with wrong description using TESedit,
If it's a raw food, make sure you have these effects: FoodRestoreStaminaNew02Detrimental "Weak Stomach" [MGEF:4E04A316] <- the "penalties" for non wood-elf, khajit FoodRestoreStaminaNew03 "Nutrition" [MGEF:4E04A317] <- this is used for cooked foods in this patch
If its a cooked food, you just need this FoodRestoreStaminaNew01 "Nutrition" [MGEF:4E048822] <- change to this plus any other effects you'd like to add
In early Requiem, if you have difficulties getting moon sugar, it forces you to use magicka potions.
So, as a magick user, once you have a few favourite stew or soup stashed for that stamina regen stacking, you can just forget about cooking.
It's nice to mess around changing a few food effects if you don't want to "cheat" with "broken" Alchemy skill.
Alternative is CACO (+ patched Requiem) to do this but it breaks Requiem too much for me.
Great work. I took a gander at the patch in TES5Edit and noticed that there are a lot of green (redundant?) edits to same effects in Requiem. It's namely under the Magic Effects tab.
1. I can make them closer to Requiem where some gives stamina regeneration - like Vegetable Soup. This will be most easy and this is what I have been working on so far.
2. I can make them less powerful by making them all only restore stamina for a one time bonus - meaning I will have to change some Requiem meals. But this also makes it so I have to take a look at the Elswyr meal. This will make food very weak and only if using need mods will you ever use them. This will touch Requiem balance the most.
3. I can give some meals from Hunterborn some other powers. Some restore stamina and others may restore magicka or even give a small boost to health or other stats. This will again take some time. I will most likely only touch Hunterborn meals, so I do not have to touch Requiem.
Looks very good. I made a patch for myself sometime ago for 1.4, but I didn't change all ingredients tho since some wasn't too far off and didn't feel they were balance breaking. But it looks like there are some new ingredients for HB 1.5 so this will come in handy, but it's nice you took time to look at all the HB ingredients.
Just one thing I noticed, I think the Rigidity on the Polished Troll Eyes is too high. I lowered the magnitude to 6.0 and the result is a potion that is 50% stronger than a default Requiem rigidity with something like a Giants Toe. So even despite I lowered it to 6, I still think that is too strong. I think Mag=4.0 should put them on par with a Giants toe potion and troll eyes are pretty easy to come by, so the potion should be less OP.
Would you be interested in finishing the patch? There's still stuff left to do, like foods, weapon/tool recipes. Get on Requiem Discord if you're interested. https://discord.gg/0pBEeD7mhisZVv76
Foods giving stamina regen, everything craftable should require crafting perk to be in line with Requiem, probably recipes but i haven't looked into it.
In the process of handling food which will take some time. Will see what I can do with crafting perks. Many foods will give stamina regeneration - at least if you follow the nature of Requiem as for example Vegetable Soup.
Cheers for the patch. May I ask what the Magic Effect entries are for? They appear to be duplicates of Requiem's entries but Hunterborn doesn't edit them.
I added them to be able to change the alchemy effects to Requiem names for example Ably Lockpicking. So yes they are duplicates and should not cause any concern.

If you must, make sure CACO and the CACO-Requiem patch loads after this patch.
The (official) Requiem Hunterborn patch from patch central is ..a joke. It doesn't do much for compatibility really.

Which one do people want the most?
