What is Project Code Name Skyfall? Well it is a early access/alpha build of an overhaul i have been working on. This overhaul is in some ways similar to Skyre/PerMa and Requiem. But this mod offers way more than those mods would. NOTE: This is my alpha release and I want this to be here for testing purposes.

What is Project Code Name Skyfall?

Short/Medium Answer(Read this one if you want to feel a complete understanding of what it will be): Well it is a early access/alpha build of an overhaul i and now a few others have been working on for awhile now. This overhaul is in some ways similar to Skyre/PerMa and Requiem. But this mod offers way more than those mods do now. In retrospect I feel like this might be a bit of both of the mods with a lot of my own ideas. See we want this to feel fresh and feel anew.  We are taking to aspects. Character and Environment as the primary focus. For example Skills determines how a Characters interacts with Environment, and in turn how Standing Stones (Environment) interacts with Skills (Character). These also determine Character <-> Character interactions, as in Combat. This here makes for a more holistic overhaul. Then we are going to add some of the Requiem Roleplaying aspects, we won't necessarily steal the ideas but may make similar ones. Then with that my original plan of making it incorporate Dark Souls, Dragon Age and taking older Elder Scrolls concepts, mostly Morrowind and some Oblivion, and improve upon it. Down below this will be explained in way more detail.

Long and maybe confusing ramblings to a pretty easy answer: This mod is and will be a "overhaul". Wait what?! Did I say overhaul I meant its really a total gamechanging overhaul enchancement that will change your character's and your lives forever! Now yes its categorizes as an overhaul but It depends on how you look at it. Lets look at SkyRe for example. You have the following modules. Main, Races, Combat, Standing Stones, Enemy Scaling, Enemy AI, Encounter Zones, and the outdated Survivalism plugin, yes it is outdate and incompatible if you didn't know already look it up. Anyways if you use every plugin you are using a overhaul but you do have the option to just use one or two plugins. Example say I use the Races and Standing Stones modules. Now I am just using mods that would classify as Races, Birthsigns, Standing Stones, ect category. But if you try to use the main with A.C.E mod than you will have some issues. The Main will never be compatible with anything, unless you find a compatibility patch, but the other stuff is. So what I am getting at is this mod's #1 goal is to provide you with almost 100% compatibility, but its more likely that will be 99.9% to 70% and maybe not even that but I will try. So if you wanted to use the combat module with SkyRe go ahead it will be almost certain to work. This mod was inspired by some of the great mods at in the community and even includes some of their work with permission of course :). It is also inspired by games like Dark Souls, Dragon Age, Witcher, Fallout but just some unique features from it, previous Elder Scrolls titles, and so on.



What is this all mean?




See I believe in the Cathedral Theory of modding

In the Cathedral view, modding is viewed as being like a joint effort to build a cathedral. Individually, our contributions may be small – and may not be worth doing for themselves. But by each person contributing something, we construct something larger and more worthwhile than any of us could do on our own. Under this view, creations are contributions – and may not be taken back. (Just as in building a Cathedral, it would not be allowed for a person to contribute a stained glass window and then later take it back.) But some mod authors, which are great mod authors have this theory.

The Parlor, is the view that mods are more like privately owned works of art displayed in the modder's parlor. The modder invites others into the parlor to appreciate and enjoy the work of art – but may at any time close the parlor door and ask their guests to leave. And of course, the modder may be very selective about who they invite into their parlor. Under this view, our creations are never contributions; rather we continue to own and control them – takebacks are normal and accepted.

The Parlor view allows the creator to retain complete control of their work. But the Cathedral view creates a much larger, more enduring and more perfected body of work – and for that reason, I prefer it and this why as Project Code Name Skyfall continues to grow I will allow more people to join in and contribute to the mod and make something like no other mod out there. For now It is just me, one guy and one ambitious dream. 



So Where do You Come In?



Like I said I am one guy with one ambitious dream. So if you are interested here are the following ways you can help:

1. Spread the word. This is probably the biggest. More people know about it the more time I/we will work on it and it will also make it more known.
2. Become a bug tester. This is also important and i know in this early access release there will be lots of problems.
3. Contribute. I want this to be a community effort but at the same time I don't want it to stray too far way from its original purpose. If you would like to help and make this a team effort PM on Nexus. I am looking for anybody that are at least in the range of Apprentice level to Legendary modders. Examples of what we need: Scripters, People who know how to make new models and textures, and general other things.
4. Endorse. This is another way to make this mod more noticeable. (There is also a donate button but you don't have to donate because we are just doing this cause we want to. Not for money but if you insist you can.)

What does this mod offer?

This mod is going to have lots and i mean lots of modules. So I will go over the main ones for now and talk about the others later.

NOTE: THIS MOD DOES NOT TRY TO APPEAL TO CAUSAL OR EVEN HARDCORE GAMERS. SO AS WARNING THE MOD AT ITS EARLY ACCESS/ALPHA BUILD MIGHT BE AT TIMES OVERPOWERED OR UNDERPOWERED OR THINGS MIGHT NOT WORK AT ALL. ALSO BE AWARE THAT OUR PLAN IS TO RELEASE ALL OF THESE AS STANDLONE PLUGINS DURING THE ALPHA. THEN WE ARE SOMEWHAT DONE WITH DOING THAT WE ARE GOING TO MAKE A FOMOD, THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO SELECT WHICH PLUGINS YOU WANT. YOU WILL HAVE AN OPTION TO CHOOSE TO HAVE THEM ALL SEPARATE OR A ONE IN ALL PLUGIN.

Skyfall - Master(Not Added Yet & WIP): This here is here is where all the magic happens. It will change everything with perks and perk related things as well as add new items in the game. Much more but I won't spoil that. :)

Skyfall - Combat(Added & WIP): This will challenge you to rethink your every move. Combat is been amped up to give you a more realistic and challenging battles. 

Skyfall - Races(Not Added Yet & WIP): This here will pretty much change everything related to races including but not limited to attributes, skills, abilities, heights, and more!

Skyfall - Standing Stones(Not Added Yet & WIP): Overhauls the Standing Stones so they are more interesting.

NOTE: I might end up combining both the Standing Stones and Races because I have something special planned.

Skyfall - AI(Not Added Yet & WIP): This will make all not just enemy but all AI much more better and realistic in and out of combat.

Skyfall - Encounter Zones & Scaling(Not Added Yet & WIP): This will make the world more tougher and the citizens of the world much more tougher. 

Examples of things we might do; Have it where in combat if you wear heavy armor and also been attacking a lot more than say you allies, assuming who have followers, the enemy will consider you the bigger target. This is an feature from Dragon Age: Origins

Add back the old class system but make it more interesting.

Also be aware that the names will change probably a good amount during the alpha/early release build. Even the mods name might change, because to be real about it. The mod's name was just what I called it for awhile when I had all this written down in pen and paper.

So far that is what is planned but there will be way more modules to come in the future like I said. 



What are the Requirements?
An legal version of Skyrim(Sorry Nexus doesn't support pirarcy and we don't either. Also mostly mods don't work with pirated versions)

Updated Skyrim(This would be the last one they did. 1.9 whatever)
SKSE(This is required because of some of the things the mod will do. Example: MCM menu.

 BrotherBob letting have choice in using his Poise System mod or the Dark Souls Combat mod from Loverslab both are excellent mods which I decide to use his Dark Souls Combat mod which really help enchanced the combat. Thanks.

taro8 for letting me use his Attack Commitment No turning during attacks mod which again really made this module much more interesting and challenging as well so thank you for that.

Permissions:

The mod contains assets used from other authors and I have already have permission to use them. So please don't taking their work without talking to them about getting their permission first.

You can re upload MY files, if you need to know what they are PM me on Nexus, to other sites but please credit me as the original author first.

You can make unofficial bug fixes and addons but you must credit me/us as the original author(s) first.

F.A.Q

This here is my made up Q and A. As you guys comment and ask questions I will updated it.

Q: What is this mod?
A: Its an overhaul.

Q: I know but what does it do?
A: It does a lot of things but one of its main goals is to be as scripts less as possible, probably won't happen, and allow full or almost full compatibility.

Now for your Questions and our answers.

Q: Reading the requirements, it sounds like you got stopped in the middle of a thought. All DLC's, SKSE, updated Skyrim? and does it require USLEEP?
Other than that, I think it sounds awesome. I read the description on the Beth forum and thought it sounded great then also.

A: As of now It requires Dawnguard, Dragonborn, Hearthfire, the last patch of skyrim and SKSE because some of the modules will require MCCM's such as the Combat. Now at the moment it will not require USLEEP. Here in maybe a couple hours or tomorrow i'll make the description more clear. Sorry about that I kind of got just a little distracted in my thoughts.
