Im just curious but why do you need this?I.e why do you need to put the GDO plugin on top?

I have the same question. You can accomplish the same thing by changing your load order and have GDO load after IA. I had thought this patch merged some records.

However, from experience and depending on other mods in the author's load order, maybe this patch made sense. While I can't picture it clearly in my head for my current build, in the past, with a couple hundred mods, the only way to make things work is with extra patches.

However, if the only mods you are using are the Unofficial Legendary Patch, GDO, and IA, you don't need this patch. I still have few enough plugins with my current build that LOOT can still manage my load order effectively. (If you have 200+ mods, you have to examine each mod in TES5Edit by alt-clicking the + sign in the tree-view pane and seeing what conflicts or I suppose, alternatively, re-running the conflict filter... But, I prefer alt-clicking new mods as I install them. I prefer to never use the visually overwhelming angry-red conflict filter.) LOOT will sort GDO after IA. If that's the case, you don't need this patch because the records patched by this patch override IA's records.

But again, if for some reason you can't load GDO after IA, this patch will override the records shared by IA with GDO's record changes.

I had thought this patch would merge some of the records, but it seems to use the copy override into <new esp> command. Again, there's nothing wrong with that if you need it because of other mods preventing you from sorting GDO after IA. But if you sort IA before GDO, this patch doesn't have a benefit as it will simply duplicate records that would otherwise have already loaded.

tldr; just sort GDO after IA, unless for some reason you can't. If you can't, then use this patch.

Edit: I should also add that I'm appreciate when anyone provides a patch on the Nexus. Even if the patch isn't entirely up to date with either the Unofficial patches or the mods its patching, a patch still saves me time and the tedium of dragging and dropping records. (BTW, as of the time of this post, this patch is entirely up-to-date.)

So, endorsed. I have this mod saved to my directory of patches just in case I do need it in the future. The patch does exactly what it says it does as described when using the load order on the description page.

To address a concern expressed in an earlier comment, this patch was created correctly. It contains the GDO records that IA would override if IA loads after GDO if you are using the current versions of IA and GDO. The records in this patch match the records in GDO that the patch is patching, perfectly. (Say that 3x fast! )

Guards are so annoying, what does this mod do to them exactly?

I downloaded latest 1.4 version of GDO. Also latest IA release.
      I can't see your conflicts.

With the versions of GDO and IA mentioned in the description, this patch covers all dialogue entries contained in IA, as far as I can see.
