What a fantastic idea! I've always wondered whether the word walls actually said anything, and this is such a fun way to have that information in the game! I've added this to my game, and I can't wait to use it.

This is an interesting and great idea!!

Could you make it so, that after the shout has been learned one would be able to read the passage of the book by activating the Word Wall? And you could make it like the opus of Jiub, that each one Wall just gives the player a page, and to finish the quest he has to search for someone to complete the volume.

      I'm happy you enjoy it!

I made this mod as my absolute first venture into the Creation Kit and wanted to keep it as simple as possible. But I've learned a lot since then so it's not impossible that I revisit this mod as I've wanted to do more or less what you're suggesting.

I'd make a quest where you can be the author of the book, compiling it slowly and after visiting Word Walls around Skyrim. When you've visited them all you'd go to the College of Winterhold, turn your notes in and have Urag publish it and get a sweet reward.

Since I often play as non-Dragonborn characters I'd make it so that if you have completed Dragon Rising (the mission were you kill your first Dragon, absorb it's sould and the Greybeards summon you) you could just absorb the knowledge by learning the Word, but if you prefer playing as a scholarly type there'd be another way. Like buying a dictionary from Urag before you head out.

If I find the time it will probably be my next project after DIVERSITY!

I always play as Dragonborn, but I make it a point to learn most shouts BEFORE Dragon Rising or even before retrieving the golden claw...

I visit all locations, but I don't explore any dungeons (unless there is a quest to do). I find all places where Dragons will spawn later and learn all the shouts possible. After finishing many misc quests and some bigger ones, at level 40 or so I go and start the main quest where I can concentrate on the dragons without having a 1000 other things to do.

I'd be happy to help with testing, as I just started a new playthrough and haven't got very far

I think completing the volume wouldn't be a task Urag would be up to, but rather parthunax or one of the greybeards. Maybe parthunax could tell the player to visit a particular greybeard about it.

Who knew that I could be even more of a Skyrim nerd, and in the course of just one night?! I am carrying these around now and finding it fun to translate a wall every time I find a word. All the time that I have spent in Skyrim and something small like this can enhance my game. Nice. Thanks for the books!

is there any criteria for the pages to appear? like having to visit the wall first, or is it just everything at once? the first would be more immersive, but it might not be easy or possible to implement.

No criteria, the mod just add the books, already been written by a scholar in the past with a Foreword to provide immersion and background.

I made this mod as an absolute beginner in using the Creation Kit and by just adding two books it's as simple as can be, no scripts, quests or anything.

However, I am toying with the idea of making a Quest mod where the Player is tasked with visiting the stones and translating, either through absorbtion or through using a Dictionary (for non-Dragonborn players). It seems to be doable, but it would require me to learn scripting and quest design from scratch, which can take anything from a few weeks to never.

I'll be sure to post updates here (Track the file to get notifications! ) if I decide to go through with it, in the meantime I hope you enjoy this mod if you decide to try it!

I like the idea and would like to suggest you put Dragonborn's Tharstan as the author as the DLC shows he can read dragon speech.

Good suggestion, and about using a dragon alphabet font from thuum.org to write Dovahzul world wall with the respective transliteration and a translation.

      Thanks for the suggestions!

I prefer the author to be someone from a more peaceful era, and the name I gave the author is actually similar to my real life one!

On using the Dragon alphabet and transciptions, that was actually my first plan. But I decided against it because:

      1. It doesn't seem like the Creation Kit supports the Dovahzul characters, it showed up like when I try a copy-paste from thuum.org in this window: semitranscribed with random numbers. The alternative would be importing it as image files, but I felt that wasn't worth the effort, especially when considering point 2:

      2. It would effectively double or triple the amount of books required, and I felt it would be cumbersome carrying around and flipping through several different books. Even when just using the transcriptions it'd be 6 pages per shout to flip through, even though it looks nice:
