About this mod

A small, scriptfree, leightweight mod, which lets enemies stagger when hit by a regular attack.

Permissions and credits
Simple Stagger

This mods adds staggering on regular attacks to skyrim.
If you hit an enemy with a normal attack with a meeleweapon, it will stagger a little bit.

It only works on regular meele-weapon-hits. No Bow/Crossbow, No Magic, No unarmed.
For Powerattacks the vanilla-staggering-system will work unchanged.

You on the other hand will not additionaly stagger when being hit by a normal attack.
This Mod is build up on vanilla staggermechanics, a stagger this small would only be cosmetic,
which means you are not interrupted, only your camera will shake (therefore it would be just anoying in my opinion).

This mod is scriptfree.

(Only in 1.0: If your enemies block your hit, it will still stagger them,
but you will still get a short recoil-stagger as in vanilla, therefore you won't profit of it.)

new in Version 1.1:
Thanks to Tartosuk, he had the idea and helped a lot to find a solution.

Enemies will not get staggered by regular attacks when they block your hit
- only a succesfull block will save them from staggering
- if an Enemy is blocking, but you attack him from side or back, he still will get staggered

added optional Cooldown

- open console and type "set staggerduration to x", where x can be 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4 (type without " ")
- this will result in 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4 seconds cooldown
- blocked hits will not trigger Cooldown
(Cooldown = the time, untill this specific enemy can be staggered by a normal hit again)
(Cooldown will not prevent you from staggering a different enemy or staggering the same Enemy by shieldbash/powerattack)
- different values than 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4 will not work

Installation:
Use Modmanager or simply copy simple_stagger.esp in your \Skyrim\Data Folder and activate it.

1. Ingame, open console and type "help doperk_stagger" (without " ").
This will show you a Perk (doperk_stagger) and its ID.

2. The ID will look like XXX00D64
(XXX will be the position of this Mod in your loadorder, for example "96000D64").

3. Then type "player.addperk XXX00D64"
(replace XXX with the numbers, which showed, type the whole number with all zeros).

4. Save your game

Uninstallation:
Uninstallation mid-game works, since this mod does not use scripts.

1. Ingame, open console and type "help doperk_stagger" (without " ")
This will show you a Perk (doperk_stagger) and its ID.

2. The ID will look like XXX00D64
(XXX will be the position of this Mod in your loadorder, for example "96000D64").

3. Then type "player.removeperk XXX00D64"
(replace XXX with the numbers, which showed, type the whole number with all zeros).

4. Save your game

5. Delete simple_stagger.esp in your \Skyrim\Data Folder or uninstall with Modmanager.

Compability

This Mod does not change anything in vanilla game, it just adds, therefore there are basicly no Mod-Incompabilities.

But there is a limitation: I use "apply combat hit spell", a effect, which does not stack, if it is used multiple times on a specific hit.

In Vanilla there is no problem,
because "apply combat hit spell" is used only 3 times: The Masterperks in one-handed-, two-handed-, and archery-perktree.
Archery does not conflict because my mod does not affect Bows.
One-handed & Two-handed will not conflict, because they are only affect backwards-powerattacks, which my mod does not affect.

If you use other mods, which use "apply combat hit spell" on regular attacks, it may will show weird behavior. Test it, and if it is the case, you can savely uninstall my mod midgame.
