I don't know if you're still willing to work on this, but I for one would like to see Fort Dawnguard / Volikhar Keep (the two possible "home bases" in Dawnguard; maybe a single door that changes appearance and destination depending on which side you choose?) and Severin Manor (the player house you can earn in Dragonborn) added.

I like to know they can add chicken pen an put the spiders in different room or change them into different animals. I hope they can open wall for chicken can lay there eggs. I hope they can add more room down stairs.

    hey, love the mod so far, but i have a couple questions;

    a) are there any locations that are linked that are missing keys? (i cant find the one for Hjerim in Windhelm, just for example).
    b) is there any chance that you could link Castle Volkihar to the cellar? (this would be amazing!)

anyways, thanks for making this mod even a thing!

I have to ask, what is up with the two un-kill-able spiders that attack me every time i go into the cellar?kind of distracting having to whack them every 2 minutes when I am attempting to do something in my new cellar.

and once, I left the cellar into the thieves guild, and them came right back to the cellar, and everybody in the thieves guild came with me and fought the spiders for a good 4-5 times as they came back to life. fun to watch, but not what I expected to see in my basement.

is there a way to get rid of "Lis" and "Lister?" or at least tame them?

    Thanks,

They are set to be non hostile. They are based off of the dark brotherhood pet spider. If they are attacking it is because you attacked them, their faction, or the chickens. Try paying the fine at the dark brotherhood. or you can use the console to disable them, or make them non essential.

Does this allow access to the other homes prior to obtaining them? Because if so, that would break a lot of functionality, especially in some quests and purchases. Consider the fact that there is a very "famous" mod that does exactly what this does, and that if you fully are resolute in following through with this, you should perhaps wonder if it is worth it.

Well this cellar is not "vanilla" in design and if the modder did it correctly the doors to the different houses will be locked until you earn the key(s).

Keys are required. For the ones not given like Breezehome they are provided on the other side of the door to prevent game breakage. What "famous" mod I couldn't find one on the nexus?

It's called "Hearthfire Basement mod." There is a full version, and a lite version. A medium version is in the works. I know the full version is on the Nexus, but not sure about the lite version. I think it's currently only on Steam.

Here's the Link for the full version on Nexus: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27982/

It's a very big basement, and may be more than many players want, I know it seemed like a bit much to me. And the lite version is at the opposite end of the spectrum, and seems to be lacking in features. I've been using the lite version, with some additions of my own using Jaxon's Positioner and Furnishings mods. Your mod is more of what would maybe be considered a medium option for players, and has a little bit of a different flavor, which is a good thing for those who may not be satisfied with the other options.

This reminds me of how I've recently come to think that house mods (even my own two feeble attempts) are essentially cheats. This isn't directed at the author here personally, but essentially everyone. We want a house that is what the vanilla game does not have: the perfect house in the perfect location with everything one needs. Sometimes even coming with merchant NPCs.

Yet I still enjoy downloading and testing/exploring new homes and castles. The never ending quest for the perfect place. (Which would essentially be a cheat, even if discovered.)

I've come to appreciate the vanilla game more and more with regard to abodes. Maybe it's time for me to look at other kinds of mods besides houses. Just thinking out loud.

If you want your house mod to be something you achieve, I'd suggest looking at Elianora's house mods. I can't speak for all of them, but I know at least some are not instantly available.(For instance, the Thief's Hideout Ultimate actual ideout is only available at the very end of the thieves guild quest line)

Also, if you've been only looking at house mods, you've been missing out a lot, mate!

I wouldn't consider this so much of a cheat mod, more of a convenience mod. Can move over carry weight from one house to another. and dont have to build/fill 3 identical basements.

FireFangs: Actually, I do not like houses where one has to jump through hoops to get it, especially since I only install houses to look and not really live. And as a Nord warrior I feel like I should be able to kick-in almost any door and enter.

EXCEPTION: Ironwood Manor between Whiterun and Rorikstead. Installed it a couple of times and used it. Once, at a low level, I felt like the Magnificent Seven, rounding up followers so I could take out the bandits for its quest. That was fun.

But yes, I think I'm missing out a lot having focused on house/castle mods. I do use Amazing Follower Tweaks, tried Vilja and Sophia for awhile, and have used Convenient Horses. But mostly, I like it best with just me and my horse as only companion. So perhaps try weather or town mods. (Some castles are almost like towns, and kind of cool.)

jcbowde: I've just placed myself in God mode in the FEW times I cheated to move stuff. Normally, when acquiring any vanilla house (and I've had them all) I don't move stuff from one house to another. I leave the stuff in that house. And as I progress in level, I can see how my stuff gets better from house to house.

But here's the truth: my BEST experience is carrying stuff with just me and my horse. I've cleaned out hideouts and such and left on my horse with 1,000 pounds. No God mode or cheat. Takes a bit to collect the loot and drop it near horse (best in a container or nearby body). And leave on horse; no fast travel. Which can be a challenge if attacked while overloaded and can't run myself. Why I'm glad I'm now pretty adept at swinging sword from horseback.

Yesterday just started a new play through, only level 1. (I like the early levels the best anyway.) I don't know that I'll use any house, even my own two mods. No house and little or no "stuff": just sell it all. See if I can get more gold than the over 750k I had in my level 53 play through.

Hey, is there a general Skyrim forum to discuss the game?

Make it a Mead hall of sorts to have a place to leave your followers and maybe connect it to all the inns. Be like a central meeting place. Have some storage to change your loadout depending on the quest and area you are going to.

Agree a mead hall would be great but connecting to the other inns may be a bit much. Personally I think a pool would be fun as well but this is a really good start.
