I have tested a lot of ENBs and this one has the best visual-performance balance in my opinion. I'll be using it for a long time.

    Hi,

I really like this ENB, because it looks nice and VERY performance.
I must say this is by far the most performance and nice looking ENB that i try past 3 years.
My rig is i7 3.7ghz and ati 7850 2g, almost 55+ FPS outdoor everywhere.
but still, i had some question wanna ask

I try the first beta and 0.996beta, I find the 996beta's nights even bright than vanilla. I dont need to use torch anymore and 11PM looks like 5AM.
The first beta's nights is fine but i find out maybe it's the Night Sky seems too bright too Blue in ARGO Enb.
It just my personal taste, 5AM had blueish bright night seems fine, but 11PM night still looks like 5~6am its kinda weird.
Is there any way to solve this issue by myself? Maybe i can change some enbseries.ini setting to make the night sky more blackish?

I saw your twitch before but dont know this is your hard work untill now.

    good job , endorse, kappa

PS. i use Revamped Exterior Fog, Relighting Skyrim, ELE - Lite, no other weather mods

Welll the lightness depends on the weather, clear nights will be bright, I have the night Sky Lorkas milky way fairly bright to justify that it puts off allot of light, therefore bright clear nights.

Cloudy should notice darker nights, rainy snowy stormy weathers night will be very dark.

The latest version I have that is not yet uploaded it may have fixes. Im really glad this is working for you, not allot of people have tried this yet, but I think over time more will come to appreciate this ENB.

It's definatley going to get more tweaks and things over time.

The nights shouldnt be thaaat bright, send me a screen shot?

I will upload a new build soon, be sure to let me know if your still experiencing the lighting issue.

In the mean time, you would want to play with , direct lighting intensity/ curve, sky gradiant top curve / intenisty, gradiant intesity night. Ambient color filter night, ambient lighting curve / intensity, Bloom.

please please show me screen shot of trouble issues you have, its the only way I can see for certain whats going on.

Don't forget all the weather .inis are modular, if you like the nights from an older version, just copy the ini, or the specific settings over.

Great balance of performance and visuals! Was using Rampage, playing at 720p to keep high FPS, but this offers a really great alternative for beauty and ease at 1080p with loads of graphics enhancements. Thanks!!!

Most optimized enb i have ever seen so far! Keep up good work TheGloriousArgonaut. Could you please write a short guide for those want to tweak it further? Please consider that. Thank you so much for your efforts!

I appreciate your kind words , and am glad this works well for you.

Not sure what sort of guide you're looking for but I'll go on a bit and feel free to ask for any specifics.

Hmmm, well I have all the weathers set to seperate presets so you run no risk of , "messing up" another location if you do feel like altering stuff in the GUI.

Simply use "shift + enter", and make sure you enable the "weathers" tab.

At its core I love this preset allot for the performance, with the level of visuals it gives. That being said Im insanley picky and still find tons of stuff of to tweak, and wish to add for the future. I constanly find other ENBs visuals go waaaaaay beyond what this preset provides, but this is meant to be a preset used for gameplay and high frames not archery.

really allot comes down to not using DoF, AO, Skylighting, Cloud shadow, reflection, settings for maximum frames.

If you play the game with high enough shadow distance and have decent ambient lighting settings, AO I feel is not all that necessary, but can look amazing for other ENBs Ive seen who utilize it properly. AO though just creates instant frame loss though, and lowering AO settings to a point where they impact frames less, leaves tons of visual flickering and general nastyness.

Same with DoF while it looks amazing for screen shots, if you use tools like DyndoLod + Enhanced Landscapes, the need for DoF to "blur ugly lods" dissapears.

This enb used 0 sweet FX settings so sweet FX people can easily add to it.

DoF, Sunsprite, lens, all easily able to be swapped out for stuff that others prefer from other presets.

Overtime this ENB will become something more special, but to be perfectly honest I know little about ENB coding beyond what GUI perameters do, and I will eventually need to learn more to improve the ENB with more fancy stuff.

Some ENB I see now have seperate ambient lighting settings for dunegons and non deungeon interiors, a very powerful tool that I wish to implement if I figure out what lines to add to which file and where.

I compensate for lack of skylighting settings, with heavy use of ambient lighting filters, although skylighting looks better by far, I dont have this preset set for it.

I love allot of other ENBs but until I get a much more powerful rig the performance I really want will nevrr be there, so I always settle with compromised visual goodies.

I still plan to develop this ENB over time and feel that most laymen will appreciate this preset even with its tiny flaws with specific weathers durring certain time of days, here and there. Stuff that over time, I will no doubt eliminate entirely.

The extra frames this preset provides, give room for things like Dyndo Lod + Enhanced Landscapes, higher res textures, higher global resolution, grass density, higher res shadows, etc.

Playing with 20-30 frames is not acceptable by my standards, 50-60 is a must, and with this preset I can achieve most of my fps related benchmarks and still maintain a level of image quality I can enjoy.

All screen shots are taken @1080p, with no DoF, AO, Skylighting, Cloudshadows, or reflection enabled.

I appreciate detalied reply, you are kind. Idea behind this preset is simply amazing. Once i installed and got into the game. I couldn't believe i have tons of mods installed(incl. dnydolod - floara mods - quailty lods) using almost all horsepower i can get from my machine and game looks great and smooth. Not a single big fps drop experienced.

I just wanted the night be a little bit darker blue. Tried to find right place to change no avail.

So I m suggesting to you that while you are already in beta. You can arrange most wanted tweaks to be clear. Simple color changes. A little bit stonger bloom etc. Most enb authors giving the files needed to tweak. I dislike that and find it discouraging. I'm not experienced about enb itself but i'm into this. That way people can learn to tweak, understand how it is made and of course how it can be improved.

I totally agree with you. I simply can not stand to see a 30 fps game!

I won't promise but if i can get my hand into enb more. I'll try research on demading effects like you mention. AO, DOF.. They are killing performance so bad. Just because they are calculation monsters. Doing so much job per frame. Who knows maybe i can get a new effect with less performance hit

By the way. If you are like me. Even you get monster machine and got the time. You will again ask yourself. This should be improved further!
Oh look my a fps drop in this location!

Once again thank you so much! I hope you'll improve it further and community will see and help you to do so.

Well, I play Skyrim with a shitty laptop. I tried almost every performance preset before but no luck, I got tired and gave up, but still check nexus for new mods and new updates (I barely play the game). Then I came to this, tried this ENB preset and HOLY CRAP I finally can play SKyrim with a decent ENB! I've been waiting for something like this for years, good job mate. Keep up the great work!
Now, it's time for me to continue to play the game I think Kudos and endorsed already

Yea i feel ya, this ENB I still get the best performance for the visual quality of any ENB ive tried ( ive tried allot), this ENB is a modified version of ENB author's "bretton" Check his stuff out too it should have similar performance.

Also some "Bleak and Unbleak" ENBs i noticed i had good frames too, but I didnt really like the look of those, if your looking for other frame freindly options.

That latest "natural performance ENB" i even gave that a whirl and noticed frame hits harder than this preset. That ENB really looks bleh too.

excited about upcoming update. your ENB has been working great for me. a huge increase in FPS over NLA and, to be honest, I would say that the visual difference is barely noticeable to my untrained eye and even if it were it would be worth the performance increase. kudos. i would endorse again if i could.

I would like to give your preset a try but according to the description, I take it needs Vivid Clouds and Fogs (albeit you altered some aspects of it).
I just done testing VC&F with the Vividian ENB and really don't want to use it anymore because some of its fog effects are flawed and because I like the clouds from "Ethereal Clouds" http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56279 better.
Here are examples of my problem with VC&F fog, taken in Riften:
    https://i.imgur.com/Sjns45n.jpg - as opposed to https://i.imgur.com/49IybAr.jpg
But I also don't want to use "Supreme and Volumetric Fog" anymore because of its heavy performance hit.
So what do you think... should I give your preset a try with Vanilla fog and "Ethereal Clouds"?

Should be fine, let me know how it works.
I tweaked stuff like cloud opacity, and rays for vivid clouds, it should work but as i do not use etheral clouds I cannot say with certainty it will look correct.

Also its should be possible to use vivid clouds and fogs, but disable the ground fog aspect and use the clouds texture as a stand alone.

Simply uncheck ground fogs in the FoMod installer options.

Anyway best of luck, shoot me some screen shots, hope this presets works for you, i should update it again soon.

hmmm and yummy 1440p setup you got too btw.

^ wow, those are impressive clouds!
And thanks for your reply! However, in the meantime I tweaked Vividian some more and when I was done, I dumped NLA (the esp only, not the ENB preset) on top of it all and now I have exactly the looks and colors I always wanted, with good performance, too.

So really, I doubt I will trash all this in order to try out a new ENB anytime soon.
But I have bookmarked ARGO and I may come back to it in the future.
Thanks & good luck to you and your project.
