Here's he thing guys. I was short on time for the last year and given that I don't see the situation changing in the near future I'm making the mod free to use. Mod it, change it, post it - whatever you want, just please give me credit. If I ever get back to this it'll probably be for SE.
I'm sorry for the few patches I promised but never delivered. Oh yeah, if anybody has a wish to maintain improve and possibly update this mod, PM me.

    IMMERSIVE ARMORS PATCH
So it's finally here :) Sorry it took a while but this was bigger than expected. There will be problems, I'm 100% sure, so for now the IA patches are considered beta(it's fine to use them though). Some of the pieces might not work (at least until scrievener07 doesn't release the upcoming update) and some pieces might be missing
IF THAT HAPPENS, PLEASE TELL ME SO I CAN FIX IT
when reporting a bug concerning IA patch, please include your race.
    1. Could you perhaps explain how we could make these ourselves, I do not mean the examples you've given I meant just for some custom helmets (I've got things like Sallets, Bascinets, Armets, Nasal helmets...etc.etc.)

Even if we just use your overlays but somehow work it for the new helmets?

I'd really like to know that too. I'm using Winter Is Coming hood which combine a hood and a leather helmet. It would have the overlay of a normal leather helmet. I wouldn't mind making the overlay myself for it if I knew how.

      -----------------------------------------
Edit: Ok, I figured it out. Pretty straight forward and pretty much anyone who can use gimp or paint.net can do this. Just activate the debuging bar of scribe overlay. Can be activated via MCM and shortcut. See screenshot below. In the debug bar under Art, it tells where to put the overlay texture for the helmet you're currently wearing.

      Debug bar: http://www.mediafire.com/download/4qnyvdfwt7gphl7/TESV.exe_DX9_20160616_065453.jpg

So, for the hood in my screen shot, it says Art: overlays/InivCloaks/WolfSkin/hood/WolfHoodB_GRD.dds, that translates to: ...\Skyrim\Data\Interface\overlays\InivCloaks\WolfSkin\hood\WolfHoodB_GRD.dds

If you don't know how to make your own overlays, you can always use the overlays you already have. Just find a helmet that already has an overlay that has the same shape (at least around the eyes) as the one that doesn't. Use the debug bar to find the overlay texture of the first helmet and copy and rename it to make an overlay for the one that's missing it.

You've got it If people really want I can make a step by step tutorial, though it'll take some time since I'm short on it myself lately.

Succeded in copying existing steel helmet overlay for a hooded version in from Winter is Coming. Totally sucked in trying to merge a hood overlay with the steel helmet one in Gimp.

Apparently some have problem when installing the mod with overlays not showing up.
Moving the overlay folder out of "data\Interface\exported" and into "data\Interface\" might fix it.
Thanks to Filmguy93 for the tip.

If your art path is red (as in missing textures), try reinstalling SKSE. It worked for others.

If you have any kind of problems please post it in the forums tab.

Which one? I'd just like to know for future troubleshooting and just so I can confirm my suspicions that moving the folder doesn't actually help in the latest versions of the mod. Or is this the solution you were referring to?

I moved the overlay folder out of "data\Interface\exported" and into "data\Interface\" for both Helmet Overlay mods and only then did it work.

Thanks, the feedback helps a lot. Is there a chance you could post your load order (spoiler tag if possible) just so I can see in which circumstances this fix is needed?

Megapolom, I wanted to give you an answer to some questions I had seen reported in this forum but hadn't seen anyone answer yet.

I use SkyUI, Immersive HUD, A Matter of Time, Loot and Degradation, MoreHUD, and iNeed, which all have SkyUI widgets. Typically you would use the "Link all SkyUI Widgets" in the Immersive Hud MCM to toggle them all on and off, but as was noted before, that causes the overlay to disappear as well.

I have a "solution". I add the air quotes because while it works, it takes some effort and isn't perfectly synchronous. You have to go through each of the MCM's and find where there is a hotkey for the widgets, and set each of those widgets to a single hotkey. I like playing on the gamepad recently so I've them all linked to left d-pad. After a little work, I managed to sync up every widget to go on and off at the same time, without losing the overlay.

As a heads up, there is a delay sometimes in the widgets dis/appearing, but I found that if I open up the inventory menu (the 4-way menu with the arrows), the hotkey inputs are still recognized, I can press the hotkey once or twice a couple of times to get everything synced back up.

All in all, this mod is so simple, yet adds so much! I decided to use the blurred file, increase the transparency around 20%, and decrease the size around 20 points. This led to a less obstructive view that still feels badass when I am wearing my Nord plate helm.

Thanks for all of your hard work, and the same goes for Scrivener for the initial mod!

I know it is a noob question, but first of all, like to start with that why this mod has only 336 endorsements? The amount of work put in this mod is amazing and how realistic it makes the game as well, but my question is since I have other armor mods installed how can I add overlay into them? I checked the instruction, but it didn't mention the new mods. Since most of my new armor is similar to the overlayers, I would like to just copy and paste them as an overlay, but I don't know-how? For example, a new modded helmet has a similar overlayer with an iron helmet. Please help me out on this and thank you so much for this amazing mod. Btw my English is not great!

If anyone wants to try. I got the mod working in SSE (with all of the overlays available) as it should. Used v2.0 and did the different tips found around the forums. Probably work for old Skyrim too, didn't try. Feedback ?

for someone who still plays Oldrim, I say thank you very much. you might as well add that 2.0 to the Oldrim page of your mod, because the plugin form is still in 43.

If you're gonna upload to SE, I would recommend opening your plugin in the SE creation kit and re-saving it; then it will be proper form 44.

Not working here! Tried everything, installed with the mod manager, installled manually ( also tried to move the overlay folder from "data\Interface\exported" into "data\Interface\" ) and nothing. I even uninstalled the mod "Improved Closefaced Helmets" as I was afraid it was not compatible... but it still doesn't work! Any suggestions guys?

Edit: It's solved guys! I didn't know I had to install this mod too! XD http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69611/?
