Okay, the topic is GRASS. I would recommend using SFO 2.3+ + Unique grasses + Verdant in that load order, and leave the imingrasssize at 65-75 and if you are on a beefy card/sli try 50. You should get what you want grass everywhere your romantic Skyrim stores running through the wheat fields, without fps at 20
Grass is the FPS murderer. I cheaped out and bought a Radeon R9 270x 2GB in March and it still can't run SFO comfortably. I run Verdant dark green grasses with 512 textures and imingrasssize=100 to get zero performance loss.
I look forward to the day when I can run through the high density fields on a better graphics card but today is not that day.
This line helped me with stabilizing script latency. There was a mod for fallout new vegas doing similar thing, but letting the game run on varied fps - 20-60 if I remeber correctly.
If you decide to set iFPSClamp=60, then lock your ingame fps to exactly 60 (min/max). Otherwise skyrim will play in fast/slow motion. Also make sure you have at least 35fps during load screens when you go for lower fps number. Any less than that and you will be looking at 5min loading time - skyrim engine logic...
I'm suspecting that this mechanic was used for console version of the game. A bit more info would be nice
What kind of difference should I expect if enabling V-Sync (iPresentInterval=1)? Your .ini had it disabled and I experienced some slightly annoying behavior on the screen, as if the image was "cut" in some places when moving the camera. It was very minor, though. On the other hand, the game was a lot more responsive, especially the mouse cursor on the menus (which always felt a little laggy to me). Enabling v-Sync removed the "cut" images, but made the cursor a little less responsive. Is that how it's supposed to work?
Not sure if it's related to that, but I also had the feeling that, before enabling V-Sync, my character was moving a lot faster. Not the actual speedmult, but just tapping the W key would get him too max speed almost instantly. with V-Sync enabled it takes him a fraction of a second longer to actually achieve max speed.
I disabled vsync, then enable it either in driver software or enable a max FPS that my system can easily handle, for instance 60. I use EVGA precision x to keep the heat down along with keeping a locked framerate of 60, you can also use other programs for this or nvidia inspector or an ENB.
I am glad this ini is working for some. I have been taking care of my own ini for some time now, and sadly this ini didn't improve my performance, in fact my game lost some fps and made it look a bit blury. I backed up my old one anyways, I guess it depends on the system.
This is a good ini, would recommend it. It is very close to my previous optimized ini, but I adapted yours as I was getting a little laggy with my max esp load and enb etc. If its all-right, I would post mine here if thats ok in its entirety. Slightly modified form of yours. Very good visuals, yet performs well, even under load.
This is with a ATI 7880 2GB ENB with 12x AA and most effects enable, less reflection and detailed shadows. 1920x1200
Your posted enb had a number of values that should have been set to 0,like Vibration, gamepad etc.
Nice one, I don't see the point in water reflect above 512 personally, also the gamepad should be off by deafult. its not on for me. These are customized from what I use, I have no problem. My load order sits on 105. No overhauls like Requiem, Skyre, no mods like WaC, Frostfall etc. So my game is stable as it can be.
I use a gamepad sometimes/controller so I use one, they don't have to be off.
Next time if you post a big thing like this can you use Pastebin.com please?
Yea, sorry, didnt really mean to spam. I know about pastebin, but dont have an account there. The water values are a holdover from my pre-enb days. Im unsure if the ENB overrides those and makes them redundant-not sure on that part.
Question on the skyrim.ini. Isnt Ugrids to load 5 the default value? If I remember correctly, isn't including the line in the ini redundant? I thought I read somewhere that including it like that didn't really do anything if using a default skyrim.ini. No harm from what I recall. I suppose for information purposes, if someone is running higher than 5, is it a way to tweak people to turn it down for stability? Never run it anything over default myself, so cant say.
I leave the line at default as I don't need it. However many do. So I just left it in.
You don't need an account on pastebin to paste stuff onto it. I think it will delete in like 30days though.
I wouldn't put ugrids lower than 5.(Sorry if you don't mean to say that just don't quite understand this part) " if someone is running higher than 5, is it a way to tweak people to turn it down for stability?" I wouldn't go putting stuff ugrids up just use DynLOd for that.
I've taken this inis as a base, but didn't notice he missing bFXAAEnabled=0 and placed it in SkyrimPrefs.ini at the end of [Display]. Just mentioned it for others.
Remember you can edit options inside the game, you don't need to edit them all from the INIs. I wouldn't recommend using the launcher either it may reset a lot
I downloaded your .ini files & merely copied what you have set in yours over to mine. I use a couple of GTX Titan X graphics cards in my machine & have plans to buy 2 more for a total of 4 in an attempt to run Skyrim in 4-way SLI mode on my machine. 2-way SLI mode is a bit laggy but I'm hoping 3-way/4-way SLI will run smoother once I save up the money for the other 2 cards. GTX Titan X graphics cards aren't cheap but are so worth every penny spent on them.
3 way SLI or 4 may run worse than 2. More doesn't mean better. You would be better to turn the other one off. Like the fps difference with 2 may be like 5-15, with ENB etc. The increase with 3 or 4 may be like 1-2 So you would have wasted about a £1200 on nothing
Well the grass is a major fps drop. If you have an ENB render imingrasszize=20 and it applies high detail shadows to them all. I use verdant for that problem

i would recommend to change following parameters:
fGamma=1.000
Most of the enb's out there are optimized against this value.
iMaxAnisotropy=0
for enb compatibility
bFXAAEnabled=0
must be off for enb compatibility
Anyway the INis should be used for base not to be used outside the box. Just to help people who lost theirs, need a good base etc.
Just mentioned it for others.
Also he is meaning I have mine set to different options than what he uses for ENBs, not that they are missing.
Mebantiza, you can use the [ spoiler] [ /spoiler] tags now. test:
