Hello everybody! This little mod is an edit of Elianora's fine Proudspire Manor Overhaul that removes access to Proudspire Manor in Solitude - the building will now be hidden underground - and adds a small 24/7 marketplace with a lute-playing bard and 5 merchants, all with different goods to offer. The file has been renamed and heavily edited, so you will need to uninstall Eli's mod if you're using it before you install mine.
The file has been cleaned with TES5EDIT, requires Hearthfire, is fully navmeshed and has one small script to manage the lights, so it should be safe for everybody to use. Still, you should always make a backup save before installing ANY mod, in case something goes wrong.
The five merchants offer flowers; food; scrolls, books and soul gems; Hearthfire-compatible toys (many of them custom!) and building materials; and jewelry, ores and assorted valuables. They all work 24/7.
Just as with the original mod, the unusual gem inside the house has been moved outside. You can pick it up from the jewelry merchant's stall, and it will work as normal.
A small script will turn the lights on and off depending on the time of day. For a bit of fun, the lights have different colors, so be sure to visit at night to see the full effect!
If you sit on the bench near the guards and spin the camera around in third person, you'll be able to see into the void. This is because the architecture does not have collision on that particular spot. Collision markers and navcut blocks have been placed to prevent the player and NPCs from walking through, however.
If you have mods that make changes to Solitude you may find floating doors around the place. Just disable them with the console.
The mod is compatible with Dawn of Solitude, but not compatible with Solitude Reborn. The Solitude version of The Golden Crossroads can cause crashes as well.
- Indeed.
- I WANT TO KEEP PROUDSPIRE! MOVE THIS SOMEWHERE ELSE!!1
- No.
- I hate [thing] and [thing] and [thing]! You should have done [thing] and [thing] instead! And while you're at it remove [thing] and [thing] and add [thing] and [thing]! And [thing] is NOT LORE FRIENDLY! FIX THIS!
- This isn't a restaurant. If you don't like something, use the console to disable it, remove it with the Creation Kit or TESEDIT, or sell it off. In other words...
- HEARTHFIRE WORST DLC EVER! Non-Hearthfire version pls!
- No. I wanted the food and the ingredients. In other words...
- I don't like the new crafting stations! They make no sense or something! Change them!
- Nah. Using the same furniture every single time gets boring, and I was having trouble fitting everything in. In other words...
- The new textures are too low res and ugly! I cannot stand this!
- It's what I had. I downscaled several textures to help reduce the file size, but when it comes to upscaling textures, I am at a loss because I am no good at texturing, so what you see is what you get. In other words...
- The bard sucks! She doesn't take requests and never stops playing!
- Indeed, it was not possible to get her to play as a regular bard would (probably my lack of scripting skill). If you can't stand her, edit the mod in the CK to disable the sound marker. In other words...
- I hate everything being static! I wanna pick things up!
- There are three main reasons why things are static. First, we all know how fidgety collision is in this game and clutter would be flying around all the time. Second, it would greatly hurt framerate to have so many little things moving around at once and the place is already rather demanding, being in the open and all. And third, it gives me much more freedom when it comes to decoration. In other words...
- I'm lagging all over the place! Help!
- I tested this mod on a heavily modded setup, on a mid-range gaming laptop. The marketplace is a bit laggy for me, probably because of all the stuff on the shelves, so if you're playing on a coal-powered machine, you will definitively have some performance loss. Feel free to open the mod in the Creation Kit to remove some things if you cannot stand it.
- Can I use some of these files on my own mod?
- A bunch of things I'm using are already modder's resources, so just look around the credits tab to look for what you'd like to use. If you cannot find the thing you want there, it probably means I made it myself. Feel free to ask if you're not sure.
- Is this compatible with [mod]?
- If you have a mod that makes heavy changes to Solitude there could be issues, although the mod is as clean as it could be. If you find any conflicts, please let me know so I can list them here.
- How come the mod looks different in my game than your screenshots?
- Elianora tells me the ENB is called La Profeta and I believe her, so results may vary.
- The mod is awful/glitchy/buggy/etc. I am going to uninstall it and I must let everybody know!
- Sad to see you go~
- The mod sucks!
- So does a vaccuum cleaner ;)
