Ok so my question would be WHY would you convert esp tp esm and not have one to covert to esl ? Might be a dumb question but I keep hearing that going to esl increases the ability to have more mode and go way over the limit, or am I just a really dumb person that just made a foll out himself ?

Esp >Esm - one reason is to force a plugin to load very early in a load order. The Esp > Esl trick won't work with LE

This utility appears to work with SSE as well!

Does it generate the ONAM records in an ESMified header?

No, only set or reset esm flag in file header.

Then it does not properly ESMify modules.

Would suggest noting then that this is only good for ESMifying a file to use as a master in the CK for modding.

The game requires ONAMs or any edits to the records in another master are completely ignored.

So this should work fine then to set a mods esm flag to esp so that it can be altered in Skyrim SE CK?

Does this alter the dependencies of files that might be using the esm as a master, when you change it to an esp? Or does one have to do that by hand using TES5Edit?

Nevermind: it doesn't. Nevertheless, it works exactly as advertised so "Endorsed!"

Hello, just needed to say this, My nortons just shut this down because of a sonar trojan alert in it, if this is in error let me know so I can let nortons know so I can use it other wise nortons will keep shutting it down and removing it from my system. Also before you have to ask I did run it as administration and nortons still shut it down and removed it.

Another way is to set ESM flag via TES5Edit and then rename ESP to ESM.

Yeah, that's how I tend to do it. This is quick and accessible so I'll probably use it anyway.
