Neat, would be interesting if it had a game overlay function where it can record the video too in-game with a hotkey. Press <key> to start/stop recording, pause the game, alt-tab out to your video output folder, then proceed to cherry pick your frames from there. Just musing. Neat program, thanks for the upload.

That may be a bit much for my knowledge of DirectX . You have to hook into the DirectX system and copy display buffers. For a long time Fraps was the only decent option to do it, there's lots now though that do it much better than I could. I personally use ShadowPlay and just process the MP4 files it creates.

      Thanks for the feedback!

Interesting! But how is this for CPU and RAM-usage? Won't it overload your computer?

You'll have no problems running Screen-O-matic if you can play Skyrim. It's just a basic video player with some additional features added specific to generating screenshots from the video.

The only issue that could cause a problem is if you don't have the codecs (encode/decode filters) required to play back the video file. If you can play it in Windows Media Player than you should have no issues using that file to generate screenshots.

HAHA, oddly enough that's what I have... 8 core CPU with 16GB Ram, and I also have a C-64 sitting in the corner (it still works too).

Yes there are other programs out there that can do similar. I wrote this one specific to my own needs mostly as I was not able to find exactly what I wanted in those other offerings.

    Hello !

This is my first file upload to the Nexus, I'm a little nervous if I'm honest. I don't know what to expect but it's a pretty niche program so I don't expect too many downloads anyway. Whoever does download it I hope you find it as useful as I do. It works for any game, any video file really provided filters are available, but as I mostly play Skyrim I decided to uploaded to the Skyrim part of the Nexus.

If anyone has any suggestions, questions, errors or bugs to report please let me know. I'm very open to requests.

    Happy Gaming!
