    this mod is fantastic, but the upgraded armors are not that rewarding ( < steel armor => steel armor > with sleeves same armor points!)

    I have another suggestion for you: Iron Gauntlets would require unarmored gloves to be crafted and Iron boots would require some kind of unarmored boots (work boots? Merchant boots? I have Clothing and Clutter Fixes installed, so the vanilla names might be different). They could both be crafted at the tanning rack.

    Very nice mod. And thank you for making a non DLC version.

    Congratulations on the second place!

    Hope to see this mod get around, it will certainly go staple and on the "always recommend"-list by me.

      Awww, thank you! *blush*

      I'm glad you like it, I will hopefully have the update up in less than a week - sadly my work and family schedule has kept my Skyrim time limited to browsing Nexus and /r/skyrimmods on my phone lately, but I'll get it up as soon as I can!

    This is a great idea!

    Are there any major incompatibilities with Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade?

      Thanks! And I have no idea with CCOR - my first instinct is to say that they should work together fine, you'll just have to load Progressive Vanilla Armors after CCOR in order to see the differences, but honestly, who knows until you try it? I'll go test it now and report back

      EDIT: Alright, so it seems like you can run both if you'd like, just load PVA after CCOR in order to see the changes made by PVA! Thanks for asking about that, I'll update the mod page to let everyone else know

      Do you have any plans to make a CCOR patch so that the recipes are the same as CCOR, but you still get the upgrade?

      Sure, I can do that! I've been meaning to update PVA with the Steel Armor to Steel Armor with pauldrons, but real life has gotten in the way. Today's the last day for updates before the voting period starts for the mod contest, so I'm going to do that first since I promised I would and then I'll work on a CCOR patch next - hopefully I can do that today as well Thanks for the suggestion!

      I'm working on it right now, but I won't post it right away since I'm waiting to hear back from the mod author with permission. I'll add it as soon as I hear back, assuming they're okay with it

      Okay, got permission and it's up! CCOR is faaaar more complicated than my mod, but I think I got everything working properly - at least everything looked good in my game when I loaded it up! If you find any mistakes or anything, let me know! Tonight the voting portion starts so any bug-fixes or updates will have to wait until that's over. Hopefully everything works fine for you!

      I just tested the CCOR version and I noticed some things. Notice that I didn't test all of the recipes, so there might be some more issues that I didn't spot:

      1) Some recipes are duplicated (i.e., you didn't set the recipes from your mod to replace the recipes from CCOR) like:

      a) Scaled Armor, boots and bracers;
      b) Banded Iron Armor;
      c) Steel Armor with Pauldrons;
      d) Scaled Horn Armor;
      e) Studded Armor.

      Perhaps this was intentional (i.e., you wanted to leave the player with the option to craft the armor using a previously owned one or from the scratch), but, personally, I would prefer to have less recipes cluttering the menu. If you want to leave things as they are, that's OK, since I could easily fix this on TES5Edit.

      2) Scaled Horn Armor doesn't required any other armors. Shouldn't it require the regular Scaled Armor?

      3) Some other suggestions of progressions that you might have missed (at least on the CCOR version):

      a) Steel Helmet > Steel Horned Helmet (although they have more visual discrepancies than just the horns);
      b) Dented Iron Shield > Iron Shield. This recipe should not replace the vanilla or CCOR one, since Dented Iron Shields are pretty hard to come by and, as far as I know, there is no recipe for Dented Iron Shields;
      c) Fur Kilt > Fur Kilt With Mantle > Fur Sleeveless armor > Fur Armor.

      Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, double shift at work yesterday!

      1) Okay, that's strange because I actually didn't add any recipes at all for the CCOR version, just changed them, because CCOR has several versions of each recipe based on whether you want complex or simple recipes and if you want immersive or vanilla recipes, which you choose in the MCM menu. I'm not sure what's wrong, since all I did was edit the already existing CCOR recipes, I'll take a look and try to figure that out!

      2) Yes, Scaled Horn Armor should require Scaled Armor - again, I'll look into it. I'm fairly certain I changed that recipe because I remember thinking it was odd that it only had one or two recipe versions versus the three or four most light armors had, but I could definitely be remembering that wrong!

      3a) I haven't made the Steel Helmet a requirement for the Steel Horned Helmet for any versions, because they were vastly different visually (same for the other steel variations, like Steel Nordic Gauntlets and Steel Imperial Gauntlets).
      b) TIL that there are dented iron shields in the game, I've never come across one! I'll go look into that.
      c) Kilt? I'm aware of fur armor, but not of a fur kilt. Is that added by a mod? (Edit: I'm sorry, I'm dumb, you're referring to the fur armor, right? Vanilla has 4 versions, I didn't think about referring to the least-covering two versions as a kilt, I'm sorry. I didn't make any changes to those in the original since fur armor is normally not craftable, but that's something I can add in the next update/fix! Thanks for the suggestion!)

      Thank you for taking the time to take such detailed notes, I really appreciate it! Like I said, I'll take a look, but unfortunately, the modding contest is in its voting period for the next week so any fixes or updates will have to wait until that's over, I'm sorry I'll get them ready though and get them up as soon as possible!

      1) I don't remember having duplicate recipes before installing your mod but I could have had them... Perhaps when you replaced the CCOR recipes, for some reason the alternative CCOR recipes were "told" to be made visible...? Maybe if you replace these alternative recipes with blank entries it'll hide them.

      2) As for the Scaled Horn Armor, the problem might be the same stated in item 1. Maybe what I was seeing was the recipe from CCOR and not yours, because I didn't have the ingredients to craft it.

      3-
      a) Fair enough, but I think I'll do this on a personal adjustment to your mod to clear up the crafting menu;
      b) I didn't know that, but Dented Iron Shields are from the Dragonborn DLC (http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dented_Iron_Shield), so you'd probably want to skip that;
      c) I'm sorry, but I think I may have some mod that changes these armors' names and makes them craftable (CCOR itself, maybe?). These are the armors I was talking about: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Fur_Armor_(Armor_Piece), and their IDs (not sure if they are in the correct progression):

      0006f393
      0010594b
      0010594d
      0010594f

      EDIT: I tested the non-CCOR version on a new file and it seems to be working OK!

      Oh shoot! I went over armors using the TES Wiki and most mention any armor variants on the armor set page, but for some reason they only mentioned the variant on the individual steel armor piece page so that's why I missed it! Thanks for pointing that out!

      I don't know how and/or if upgrading is allowed for the contest, but if it is, I'll work on adding that immediately. If not, I'll post an updated version after the contest is over.

      "Bug-fixing period ends 11:59 PM EDT June 17th. Contestants can update/bug-fix/troubleshoot their entry during this 5 day period."

      I believe this would count as an update.
