So sorry for the late response! To retexture things, you're going to have to download photoshop or GIMP (GIMP is free, really good), and then you need the DDS attachment. I suggest you look around for those more talented with retexturing skills, as I do not know much myself!
Just so I don't come across as a "Hey, here I am, your mod sucks, get better fool, bye" person, I actually really contacted bayharman, and we are actively working together on improving his texturing.
I would REALLY love to see this expanded to some other weapons, preferably as a standalone Blue Steel material tier, cause the unique feel is lost when everyone has the same gear. Great potential though, keep it up!
As far as your blue steel, I think it has potential. Maybe darker blue in the grooves of the design. Personally I like blue and it does give it an ice blade feel. The red nightingale looks nice. I look forward to see more. I like where you are going with it and will watch to see what else you come up with. Thanks.
What Gorbachev means, I think, is that it will appear to have the same finish as the "blued steel" firearms. I thought so, too, and I was really excited. I will be monitoring this mod, to see where it goes. In fairness, I expect it would be difficult to get it to look right in the game, but it would be neat to see.
I would post pictures, but I can't get any decent lighting to show you what I mean. In any event, I'm following this mod to see where it goes. Even if it doesn't end up the way I expected when I first click the link, it looks like it could be a worthwhile progression.
