Maybe you can port it for Skyrim SE? Would be awesome. I'm not a fan of Dragonbone-Boobs or a bony decollete. :D

Edit: Nevermind. Downloaded it and put them in the right folder. I recognized that the shin and calf-area is clipping through the boots. Can you fix this maybe?

Hey, the mods not working for me.

When I first started using it, it worked just fine. I was using the dragon plate armour with no problems and then out of knowhere when I reloaded a save, it just stopped working. I've tried uninstalling the mod through NMM and manually creating a new save and then re-installing the mod both ways, but both ways didn't work.

If you could help that would be great. Thanks so much.

That doesn't sound like a likely issue under normal circumstances. So strange...
Can you give me more details? As in, what do you mean by not working? Is the original mesh replacing mine, or is it not showing up?
Also, you talk about Dragon Plate Armor. Are you perhaps mistaken and you're wearing the vanilla Dragonplate Armor instead of the Ebonsteel?

I would like to thank you very much for this awsome piece.

It has a little problem though. The lower legs of the plate clip with the dragon boots.Would you be willing to tackle this?I would be very grateful.

Thank you for your kind words.

Unfortunately, the issue you speak of is most likely one present in the original mesh that JZbai made. As this type of mesh editing/fixing is outside my scope of knowledge, I can't fix it.

Ah, the fun things in games. Bioware noticed their mistakes in DA:O and from DA2 onwards we have sternum protactive armors (if only DA2 didn't feel so rushed or was better). Bethesda on the otherhand still loves to kill our lady warriors with their boopplate. thankfully fearless modders took up challenge to protect the ladies from dying unnececary deaths because of a broken sternum.

    Hail 2U

(Damit, I shouldn't have looked that phrase up on goolge. For a good half an hour I watched videos from the JoJo anime. Not the worst way to past the time, but still...)

I admit, I did something similiar for my own game for the Dragonscale species armors. Fixing the errors the meshes had and applying the sternum friendly meshes to the textures.

It doesn't help that Bethesda often seems to be promoting immersion and realism in their game, yet they do designs like so. There's a false impression from many people, I believe, that makes them think fantasy doesn't have to be internally consistent, so the phrase "it's a game" or "it's fiction" often comes back.

However, that's not true, and fantasy can, and usually needs to be internally consistent in order to bring depth to many things they try to tackle, especially when said things are relating to real life such as racism/sexism. This internal consistency is what makes it more believable and its delivery more powerful.

There's nothing consistent in a male armor being actually protective and the female variant being unpractical, and makes no sense within the series' lore and rules. In any case, I'm rambling too much with my personal thoughts and criticism on the matter, so I'll stop here. All hail sternum-friendly armors.

True. One of the things that annoys me about Dragon's Dogma is that. There are several Leather chestpiece items (Leather, boiled, silver, etc.). For the males it covers the whole torso, the ladies get a bikini top. I love that game (especially since Dark Arisens japanese dub made the Pawns less annoying), but that is stupid. Otherwise the game is awesome, especially as Magick Archer, but some armors...
Haven't played much ESO, but apparently some armors are equally questionable.

From what I've read, boob plate is no less defensive then 'practical' armor. And realistically if you fall face first in combat I suppose if your boob-plate does break your sternum, and destroy your heart, look on the bright side, you don't have to worry about bleeding out after your opponent stabs you and moves on to the next person which will happen to a fallen combatant weather they are wearing practical armor or boob plate. Plus your supposed to wear padding beneath plate armor which would eliminate the feminine shape anyways so those metal cups would probably be empty. And purely ornamental. Like roman pecs and abs armor. And because long swords or short swords are so heavy, a warrior would almost never leave themselves open and off balance by making a stabbing motion for the chest. And someone using daggers would be looking to stick that dagger in the gaps of your armor, because they are probably smart enough to know that the sternum area of the armor is twice as or sometimes thrice as thick as the rest of the chest-plate because that's a vital area they don't want a lucky arrow piercing.

(downloaded this because I couldn't figure out what part of the dragon's skeleton the boob plate came from and that was bothering me. xD)

Now that I've said my piece on the defense of ornamental armor in video games. (not the atrocious chain-mail bikini which should only ever be worn by someone who wants to die, or thinks they are skilled enough not to need armor anyways.) I thought I should say the remolding of the male armor to fit female body is great. The slimming down of it without making it look squashed is really nice and you should keep up the good work. Changing it without making it look like its been changed without remaking it from scratch is cool.

      1. While it's true padding is usually in place, so the boob plate would be empty, that is only true if it looks designed in such a way. If the armor clearly follows the body's form, such as "entering the cleavage" (meaning there's really no room for protective padding) then it is impractical and illogical in design.

      2. Breast plate isn't only about proper protection, but also mobility. Unlike what some games and people may tell you, someone in a full-plate armor and trained properly can do a good dodge roll (not those "fat rolls" in Dark Souls). Additionally, boob plates will prevent something very important: proper sword-wielding.

The additional weight and metallic obstacle right on your chest will obstruct your movement when you try to perform some sword technique, or when you simply try to hold your two swords in front of you. Skallagrim made a good video demonstrating this, even having a woman with large natural breasts serve as a good example. It showed that even with natural breasts, if not covered properly (padding, etc), can encumber your swordplay. Now imagine that in metal instead, with no means to "cover" them. Unfortunately, that video was removed, possibly due to too many disrespectful people commenting on the size of the participating woman's breasts.

      3. Even if they don't use a bladed weapon to hit you, a blunt trauma directly on the chest will cause more damage to someone wearing an impractical boob plate (not the actual ornamental ones, but the ones designed in games) than a true breast plate, due to the reason you stated right at the beginning of your post.

That being said, I really appreciate your comment. More often than not, I encounter people with extremely biased and blind judgment instead of your objective approach.

Absolutely fantastic! I was hoping more of these conversions would be made and as I absolutely love this particular armor its great to see this one getting some attention.
"Sternum-friendly edition" < That also gave me a good laugh.
Thanks for the mod and take an endorsement.

Yeah I was hoping for that too, but after learning Nifscope a little bit, I contacted JZBai and Dreogan for this. It took some time for the latter to reply because they were inactive, but all is well now.

Thanks for the endorsement, and for saving more lady sternums.

Yeah I'm slowly learning nifskope as well. I have modelling skills in separate programs, but nifskope is a complex but powerful little tool, and my skill isn't good enough yet to do edits to a nif mesh outside of it.

Also, if you haven't already, worth making a note that this will also work with the version of this armor included in Immersive Armors in case people get confused over that

Id also be up for seeing more of these if you ever felt up to it.

I'm surprised considering your skills in other programs (such as the work you did with Gamwich concerning the Bloodstone Calice). Nifscope appears to be quite complicated at first, but some basic things can easily be learned through trial and errors, alongside tutorials! I learned a bit because of mods I nitpicked on, and thought I could make my personal edits instead of requesting.

I don't use Immersive Armors so I didn't know about that. I will add it to the description, so thanks for the heads up! As for more of this, I'd be up for it though I don't know what other mods would require such a patch right now. I think there's already one for the popular Ebony and Glass armor variants by Cabal for instance.

I just haven't had the time to sit down and really work with the program lately. I have another project in the works which should give me time to explore some more of its functions, but I find nifskope a little awkward for actual model manipulation being primarily use to Maya which is a lot smoother (and what the chalice was done in ) I can manipulate textures and basic mesh info in it well enough, but some of its more complicated features are quite well hidden away.

The aMidianBorn content addon should be covered by the original Practical Female Armors mod as far as I know, with a little bit of texture manipulation to fix a small bug.
Just had a quick look through the Immersive Armors and the Glacial Crystal Armor I'm pretty sure shares the mesh with the glass armor so that's swappable, I'm fairly certain the Boiled Chitin Armor (despite being horribly ugly) shares its mesh with the dragonscale stuff although you might have to double-check that, and depending on how its set up, the dragonhide robes you might be able to swap out the boney breastplate from the female version to the male one

Oh my god I always loved the Dragonbone Ebonsteel set but couldn't stand the vanilla female chestpieces. You have my eternal gratitude.

This. Against the spread of the inherently dangerous boob plate fashion, Armor geeks and HEMA athletes alike thank you for saving the sternums and ribcages of female warriors everywhere.
