My main problem with this sword is the unrealism.
If you were to remove the shorter edge connected by a bridge and center the blade, it would be a much more effective weapon, as it would be more balanced and easier to swing.
Also, the hole is pointless, is harder to make mesh-wise, and would make the blade weaker rather than stronger.
Otherwise, this is a very good first attempt for a sword.

Actually that hole is known as a fuller, and would shave off weight from the blade. Still wouldn't help with the weight much, but it would definitely not weaken the blade. Well, typically a fuller wasn't straight through, but nonetheless, it wouldn't destroy it or weaken it severely. Also, you shouldn't be worrying about the blade as much as the handle. Even if you did trim the blade as you say, you'd have a hard time swinging the blade, much less not breaking your hand doing so. You would need a much longer handle.

yeah sorry it's obviously your first weapon. work on your skills, try new things and you will become better in modeling, sooner or later.

Alot of these comments are less than nice. Good work for what looks like your first weapon mod, more than I can say about myself. I fully expect when I get into modding to hope that I can make something decent that works.

Keep it up, you can only improve from here.

That's damn fine work for a first model, a heck of a lot better than I'm sure I or anyone who would decry it could do on their first attempt.

Please keep it up, will DL and endorse when able.

This is good work, especially if it's your first time. As advice, I'd say maybe work on smoothing out the seams on the blade so it looks like one solid piece instead of three connected ones (unless that was the intent, as with that combo sword from Advent Children), and maybe add some more curved and sloped edges and smaller details to the next thing you make, just as a sort of practice.

reminds me of the buster sword a little or one of the pieces, for lore friendly you might name it the smiths mistake because it kinda looks like a smith tried to cast forge two swords at once but never got them apart for finishing them and decided to just mount both of them as one. still well donehope to see more

Looks like it's made of marble, that would make it "fancy". Wouldn't make it very practical though. lol

I'm not saying your sword sucks, I like the shape, just needs not be a little more ornate to call it "fancy"

it's Fancy because of it's design.. a sword doesn't need "Bling" to be fancy.
