The way it work is you can go to the cooking pot and make a potion of purification for one of each elder scroll. after drinking it each scroll will be equitable.
DO NOT use the potions before completing there respective quests, bad things will happen.
The scrolls are based on the quiver slot, it won't get in the way of arrows, but skeletons that change the quiver position will effect this mod.
hello there...im not sure if you are still reading this forum but i downloaded your mod...first the older version and now this verion but i have the same issue with both of them: after crafting one of the elder scrolls and equiping them....the bonuses of the scrolls are set to 0.
for the dragon scroll for example, in the "active effects" it says: magicka regenerates 0% faster. time between shouts is reduced 50% (dosent actually work, the cooldown of my shouts still is normal) increases your magicka by 0 points. ...
rough description : scroll of blood : fortify health + health regen + vampire drain cloak scroll of dragon : reduce shout timer + fortify magicka + magicka regen + flame cloak scroll of sun : fire resistance + fortify restoration spells + sun damage cloak + turn undead
LEGENDSOFMAGNUS7 mod gives a lot more bonuses than the original (which gave +100% regen for magicka/health/stamina depending on the scroll) and is better he also added (or is currently adding?) new features like using the scroll of blood for something more than a passive bonus (see I can explain without spoiling)
please make a proper description of what they do, even after testing ingame I'm not so sure a paper note with written text ingame explaining what they do would be great if it's not too complicated
Does the equippable Elder Scroll actually have any effect?
By reading your description, where you said the vanilla elder scrolls are underwhelming, one'd assume your mod attaches some effect to them, but you haven't said if it does, not what it is.
pardon me but that "yes" is just a tad insulting he asked a legitimate question and should get a serious thoughtful answer not something as if from a "I know it and you don't" 3 year old IF the desc was as it should be he and a ton of future others (including me) would not have to ask that question
but I get that you have an ego so good luck with that
I never wanted to come off as obnoxious in any way, I simply answered the question he asked and didn't read the rest of the comment.(It was 2 A.M. at my house)
I apologize, but I would refrain from naming the effects of each elder scrolls as to keep them a surprise for the players. I will say this though, each elder scroll has an effect based on the scrolls origins and their enchantments will be useful across all levels of game-play. the goal was to make them powerful and useful, but not overpowered.
You should definitely include that in your description because that is an awesome addition that you should draw attention to. I was, literally, just wondering if there was a mod that made the scrolls useable, so I will have to try this out. I love when people add in fun lore related stufff, like scroll effects based on their origins. Good job!
yeah that...I get that some mod authors want it to be a challenge or surprise but no 1 out of 100 people will install a mod without knowing exactly what it does it would be idiotic to do that, half of them are broken or do useless modifications you know your mod doesn't maybe but everyone looking at your mod description doesn't no clear infos = no download I'm keeping the old mod that works well thank you
Uhm, does anyone know how to lookup a persons phone number through an email. I know this sounds weird, but the guy I'm working with to create mods (Recruit7) isn't answering any emails, so I'm posting this half because it might actually help and half as an explanation encase the next updates/mods take longer than their supposed to.(And partially to see if you can use the internet to peer-pressure someone to stop procrastinating, but you didn't hear that.Ssssshh)
I originally wanted to re-upload it so that more people would know about the mod, but I decided to update the effects and make it so that they don't brake the game if someone used the potions before completing their respective quests. I'll add some other things I've thought about in the future, but right now I'm debugging the original mod.(again don't use the potions before completing the main or dawn-guard quests. right now it will just break the game, but in the future I'll make the scrolls have horrible side effects if you try to purify them without, you know, Reading them first.
Like the original mod ... use it in game Like the polemic ... apply that to game However, I am a tad bit confused ... what is the purpose of this particular variant? How is it to be used in game?
There are no details provided in the description page and your first post seems intentionally cryptic It would seem that we are to: 1. Forge a "potable" Elder Scroll 2. Use it as a cooking ingredient 3. Be endowed with extra powers upon drinking the "Purification Potion" after completing the vanilla DLC quests (Dragonborn, Dawnguard) OR be poisoned by it if we drink it before completing said questlines 4. Finally, we are to be patient and be "surprised" when the time comes to see what powers we gain by being "purified"
Interesting approach to keep gamers in the dark about the consequences of a mod ... has a certain "Russian Roulette" ethos However, I suspect that in the end most will want more details before downloading and activating
^ So that nothing will interfere with the vanilla quests that the scrolls are required for. If I were to say make the scrolls equitable from the beginning then the main quest and dawnguard quest would have to be entirely re-scripted. This is alternative that doesn't require an entire modding team.

do you have any clue why this happens?

Technically he did answer his post. He didn't ask what those effects were either...
Sure aescraed obviously wanted an explain of the effects, but eh, he didn't actually ask for that.
