Hey, I'm currently trying to make a mod for enchanted arrows on my own. Sadly I prepared everything before realizing arrows can't have an enchantment even in the CK. So my question for you would be, did you do this with projectiles?
why are the enchantments already on them as crafted...why not just make the vanilla arrows enchant-able at any enchanting table. that way the player could place his or her own choice of enchantments or use potions to make them stronger or not or whatever I'm curious how does the arrow enchantment work in conjunction with an enchanted bow...do the enchantments stack??....but good work I'm an archer in game..never use anything else but stealth and arrows.so I'm likin where you'r goin with this....keep it up
The creation kit doesn't allow you to actually place enchantments on arrows, otherwise I would have done that and it would have been much much easier to do lol.
I been working on something like this based off Darkfox127 mod for a few years. Only it has 3 options for Arrow/Bolt speed, damage, magic radius, magic damage/magnitude for all arrow/bolts for all elements and most spells(most tier 1 was copied from darkfox stuff, yes got permission, need to get it again whenever I get back to that mod). I been toying with contact/self as the delivery system but it dose not seem to be consistent I could swear it was not that bad. I guess I need to pull the old mod up and start planning it out I had over. Working on some dynamic explosion placement script for a reanimation spell to random roll ONE of six different enchantments at the hit location. Going to need to to run a radius version sooner or later and well trying to get the darn thing to be consistent, any idea of the idea setup for consistent base magic effect to be applied across a radius? I know LOS in the explosion is a must beyond that I am getting the feeling that I will need separate enchantment for arrow hit and one for explosive radius. >< LOL
Sorry I haven't checked this site for a while(Been working on my Fallout 4 mod) but the explosion isn't consistent at all. I am still pretty green when it comes to modding but I am coming back to this now that I know Skyrim is rereleasing in October. I am going to tweak this mod some. Since the enchantment effect seems to have to be attached to the explosion you can never really get a consistent effect. I am going to try writing up some scripts to place on each arrow and hopefully add the enchantment that way. I never used scripting until I worked on my Fallout mod but I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of the concepts now. I would recommend trying out a script for it. Use the OnHit() event and do the enchantment that way.
I believe I have it set to where they can use them if I remember correctly. Although I can recall being shot with them while play testing the mod itself.
Love the mod but could you also make a version without perk requirements or at least the arcane blacksmithing as you don't need it to enchant anthing else
Yes, you need to have the arcane smith perk to craft them, then the perk for whatever the smithing material is. Early level players will mostly find them from merchants in the game.
Thank you, if you find anything that seems off or may need to be fixed I would greatly appreciate if you let me know! I want to make this the highest quality possible.
