hey man, super late response, i had forgotten id even modded skyrim at all, i was 15 when i did this. but this comment made me quite happy to read haha.
Please excuse me for my ignorance on Lore history & the like, however, from the pictures, this seems very drab (it may be just the pictures) when compared to the like of the Talon of Akatosh.
I was very keen to endorse & use this but will not be using it, I believe this looks too much like just another Katana Tachi - (I hope i pronounced that right), please don't take this as a personal attack, it's just my thoughts & envy you guys that mod these great tools for us. So, thanks for the glorious weapon, but will not be using this one.
Not to harp on this too much, but some explanation for why Septim would WANT an ebony weapon would be reasonable ...
In another mod thread (Hikari) a very clever fellow - Zoroastre - pointed out that Nords are "xenomisiac", meaning they loathe (or detest, disdain) foreigners (http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2772264-hikari/page-6) For Septim - the orneriest Nordic honcho of them all - to use ANYTHING but a Nord-forged weapon makes one wonder
Otherwise, the core concept of having a unique weapon that was reputed to be (or perhaps fabled but not really proven even?) to be Septim's IS a pretty cool idea Furthermore, the enchantments of " Dragon Breath " and some form of magic resistance are sound choices
Suggestion: give this sword a special name ... Since Septim conquered all of Tamreil - crushed it under his boot heel - and because he was purportedly the "second" Dragonborn (after Miraak) and became a demi-god of the Nines, I respectfully submit the name "Lein Gunaariik of Hjalti" (World Crusher)
Footnote: there is inconsistency in the Elder Scroll history of whether Septim was a Nord (or a Nedic) or a Breton (man-mer) BUT in the last installment (Skyrim) it would seem that he was a Nord (at least the Nords think so)
Another footnote: perhaps Septim had a ebony blade forged after he conquered Morrowind OR perhaps he had a Dwemer blade made because he had a "fascination" with the Dwemer (http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Tiber_Septim) Either way, this object has LOTS AND LOTS of good added Lore potential
To reiterate, your core concept of a Tiber Septim artifact is VERY SOUND You should really consider including a Quest to obtain it - this is a solid approach to have a UNIQUE item (like the one you have got) really stand out The Quest needn't be intricate to be immersive, but there is no short-cut for rigorous background research ... good side stories EXPAND Lore
Hahaha i find it funny you think im angry over the sword. Im not at all actually, people can post whatever they want. but what i wanted to do was make a joke and see how many people flip out about my one comment and i can say by you sir stating your comment has made my goal a success
Um that's a Blades 2h weapon, not a ebony blade. I can understand author using blades model, as the blades are a grp of dragon slayers and Tiber Septim was a Dragon Born (even though there was no dragons when he was alive).
