Elisdriel is one of my favorite house mods and I use it for every play-through. I have used this mod for awhile now and love it, but my only issue is that my followers are unable to cross the rope bridge over the falls to the house. They end up going the long way around after staring at me for a bit on the other side of the falls like they are trying to figure out how I got there.
I knew little-to-nothing about modding when I made this, so I don't think I even actually navmeshed it. I'd whip a fix up really quick, but I currently have Enderal installed so I can't edit base-game mods for the time being. I may get back to it at some point; I may not. If you know how (or are willing to google it for 2 seconds) it only takes a minute or two to set up navmeshes anyways.
And sorry about the late reply. For some reason I haven't been getting notifications for posts on my mods anymore.
I've gone ahead and navmeshed the bridge etc so followers can now cross without issue. I've also repaired pathfinding errors, added statics and placed the lights on a timer. If you want the file let me know and I will send you it here and if your cool I will put it up on my K747 Elianoras Mods page also.
edit: went a bit deeper on this one, added structural integrity to the bridge > https://imgur.com/a/x0oSN
Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. If you want to release it standalone, I honestly don't mind (even if it includes my work as well). This is a small mod anyway; consider it a resource.
The mod author of Elisdriel has closed commenting so this is the only place I can post this advice.
Elisdriel is a very heavy mod and even on a stable system can cause issues with game loading not related to a corrupt save.
If everything is working well one your system and Skyrim install you may never even notice a problem. No CTDs no stutter either inside or out.
BUT, typically you move close to Elisdriel and make a save and this save is not corrupt and will load perfectly if you reload it before exiting the game (if you stay in the same area) However, if you exit the game and try to reload this save, you will get a infinite loading screen, because Skyrim has to load Skyrim and all the Elisdriel textures at the same time and the first block of memory overflows causing a crash.
Safety Load fixes this problem and allows this savegame to load, but it has issues of its own so is not recommended.
To fix this issue you need to edit your SKSE.ini file to allocate a bigger block 1 heap than STEP recommends.
Upping:
DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768
to
DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=1024
fixed all my issues with Elisdriel.
Note that using the lower rez versions of ELisdriel doesn't fix this issue as it is not a VRAM issue.
A very lovely addition, looks really great, from the bridges to the lantern posts to the moss and vegetation. Very nice.
Bear in mind that the popular weather mod Purity adds a huge Dibella statue as part of Dibella Falls right where your largest bridge with the lantern hanging from it is. As of now, they are compatible, and no clipping, I shrunk the Dibella statue just a tad to make it look a bit better. Much appreciated if you keep this in mind for future updates, so that it keeps looking good with both your bridges and the Purity mod together =)
Apologies about that; that was honestly the only place I could fit in the bridge without editing the terrain beyond recognition. Glad to hear you enjoyed the mod, though!
It's a single .esp. It isn't THAT hard, is it? Also, this is my first leap into modding, and as I have no idea how it works and have always personally found manual installation easier, I left it out to stay on the safe side xD
well i used to manually install mods back in the oblivion days. But mod managers allow you to install and uninstall with little to no effort. So why not take advantage of such a feature? manually installing mods no matter how small the mod is still adds an extra step that being you then have to launch your mod manager/steam launcher to activate the mod when downloading with manager automatically launches your mod manager and prepares it for install right there. it does all of the extra work for you.
For most mods, though, it's a simple single drag-and-drop from a zip file to the data folder, a quick run of LOOT, andthen you're set to go. I only really use NMM for large mods made practically exclusively for the installer. Like I said, I have no idea how it works. If I need only have an esp in an archive for it to work, then by all means I'll enable it.
I thought the original mod was perfect the way it was, a ranger type character who uses a tree like home would not be afraid of a little water but this is a good mod and rope bridges fit nicely, as an alternative have a look at fallen tree bridges for inspiration http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/55699/? If you took one of the normal large tree stump's and made a tree bridge it would fit even more nicely with the tree house, perhaps place a flat deck with bracer's on the centre of the tree bridge and make a sitting area and a gate to stop other's using it to cross the river.
Thanks for the feedback! To do what you suggest would probably require custom assets, which I am by no means qualified to make, though. If and when I find or am experienced enough to make them, I'lll mess around with it to see how it looks.
Nooo effing way. LOL... You've been reading my mind! I'm so downloading this. Now when I'm up there on my porch at night and can juuust see those Aldmiri elves hauling another slave away I can run across your bridge and take'em out without having to make an expedition out of it...lol.. Great Idea. I will endorse this for sure Thanx.
