Hello, first of all, thank you for this mod, just tried it a few seconds ago and it works just fine! :) I encountered a little "problem" though, well it's not a real problem, just about esthetics ;D I saw, as soon as I equipped the heavy version of the air helm, my earrings (from immersive armors) disappeared (they are still equipped though)^^ with the light version everything's just fine. I think it's the same thing as with normal armor hiding amulets etc, but it's not that bad, so still endorsement from me ^^ Finally, I can see my characters face and hair and/or wear circlets without losing the perks, thank you very much! :D
Thanks fot he mod, I definitevely needed this one, like you I was annoyed with hiding my Orc head when I spent hours to sculpt her face and choose the perfect tattoos, all of that to end up covering it with helms or armored circlets (meh...), try the Hide helmet mod which had problem finding the masterfile (huh?) and uninstall quickly the helmet toggle once I realized it was messing with my "all favorites weapons are visible" mod. So thanks a lot again
Could you make a complete set of "heavy air armor", that can be equiped over other attire? A bit of a strange idea I guess, really just cheat items, but I would appreciate it.
This mod may not be better than other hide helmets mods, but the mod author may still make improvements.
If nothing else, you can use this mod to enchant an extra piece of gear.
Some suggestions: 1. Change the Armor Rating from 0 to 22 (to match Dragonplate AR). 2. Change the Armor Material from Foresworn to Dragonplate (heavy version)/Dragonscale (light version), or Deadric for heavy and Glass for light. 3. Allow the armor to be tempered so it can be improved at a workbench. 4. Add a cloth hood for mage players.
Minor bug to report: If I equip the Air Helm light version, then, equip the heavy version, my character ends up wearing both helms at the same time. This doesn't happen if I equip the heavy version and then equip the light version.
@Brokenfast I realized I've not been as clear as I'd like to be. I've updated the mod description with links to similar mods and a quick comparison. If you already use an existing hide helmet mod, I suggest that you stick with it if it's working out for you. The main reason for using this mod for new users is because it's lightweight, clean, and doesn't change anything it doesn't need to change. That means no incompatibilities with your other installed mods and no quirks like all other NPCs also losing their helmets.
The 0 armor value is deliberate. The player is not wearing a helmet, so the player gets no head protection. this mod is for perks only. If you want super protection, you go wear super armor. Make up your mind, choose one of either.
This mod should work with any other mod that alters the vanilla helmets. If you are looking for a mod that allows you to wear a helmet and a circlet, there are plenty on Nexus, here is one I found after a quick search: Helms and Circlets by rpbraley868
Air Helms use body slot 59 (arm body part). Air Helms Armor Rating is 0. Material Type is Foresworn. You can wear an Air Helm and a helmet at the same time.
This mod may not be an actual helmet replacer, but I can see this mod being used to enchant an extra piece of gear.
Thanks @phoenixsky for the clarification. I've added some of your points (body part usage; armor rating) into the mod description so that it's clearer for everyone what this mod does.

the entire goal of the mod is to help make perks work
