There is a way to "hide" almost completely the issue between SFO and this mod. As other users said, the faulty mesh is Moss_Bark_transp.dds. But the old fix is not good anymore since textures have changed again. In any case, there is another simple and sensible way:
Go in Skyrim/data/textures/landscape/trees. Now, search for treepineforestbarkcomp1.dds. Then, copy that file and put it elsewhere (where u want, i.e Dekstop). So, rename it in "Moss_Bark_transp.dds". You will now have a modified .dds file with the texture of this mod and related to SFO (because the original Moss_Bark_transp.dds is an SFO file, but what matters in this case is the name, not the content inside). Then, return to Skyrim/data/textures/landscape/trees, put the modified Moss_Bark_transp.dds replacing the old one. Enjoy. It should work.
In few words, it's like adding this texture for pinetrees trunks in SFO Nothing more.
You have to make the same procedure for every faulty mesh. But anyway, I suggest you to try Enhanced Vanilla Trees, an amazing mod that uses some assets form vurt's SFO and has Realistic Aspen Trees included. Also, tree trunks are even better (for my taste) than Trees HD.
fantastic, your solution worked like a charm. I looked at Enhanced Vanilla Trees but the file is much bigger than SFO 2.6, so not worth my VRAM. Thanks again!
For reference: - SFO 2.6 - Trees HD - this mod and the replacement of the Moss_bark texture in SFO by this mod's treepineforestbarkcomp1.dds
I appreciate the fix and the work put into this mod but I have found a slight bug. Coupled with SFO v2.5 and Tree'sHD, this mod fails to create seamless tree textures.

These types of trees are found all around Falkreath with the textures seeming to merge into one another rather than being a distinct line, the textures are warped into one another.
I tried going for SFO 1.91 instead of the current 2.5b and it kind of sorted the issue, but is this mod applicable to fix the issue completely? Or should I first try to place Trees HD before SFO 1.91 in my priority order in Mod Organizer? Or do I have to go as far as going into LOOT and making sure Meta Data for SFO says "Load After Trees HD"?
Is any work being done for the newest version of SFO +Trees HD? :/ major bummer. Or anybody else know of a good alternative to trees HD for SFO? like "CoverWoods" for example..

edit: eh... turn out still have the problem, likely there are some other textures needed to be replaced as well
Thanks again!
