This mod is exactly what I wanted, I didn't expect to find it either. Thanks a lot! And to anyone complaining about what they're called, if you don't like it then simply don't download it... problem solved
I love how people claim to be the "alpha nerd" because only plebs who don't know what a wyvern is would call the skyrim dragons, "dragons". While at the same time none of those people seem to even know that every time a wyvern shows up in some fantasy world it's always mentioned how they are different from dragons not because of their anatomy, but because they're dumb as a brick, can't talk and above all can't breathe fire. So compare that to what you see in Skyrim.
Also it's all made up. Why are people so driven to compare this with wyverns from D& or the Witcher universe etc? Why not some other made up story? How about I base my logic on StarCraft universe and claim that dragons or wyverns don't exist at all, so it's totally a legit idea to make a mod removing them from the game completely. Ever thought of that?
I could write a book with gigantic penises in it, flying around and spitting fire, and then call those things dragons. That would be totally legit, and no basement dweller could ever deny it no matter how hard they typed with their stubby fingers.
so you're saying that ark got it wrong? fire wyverns breath fire, lightning shoots a beam of concentrated electricity from their mouth, and poison spits a slow moving ball capable of knocking out creatures, later in a free map, the ice wyvern was introduced, i haven't seen one, so, i can only assume that they work similarly to the fire and lighning ones.
1. What source are you using to claim they are not Dragons? 2. Is that source based on real life or fiction? 3. Because it is based on fiction, it has no absolute authority and is simply your favoured design. 4. Because I favour Skyrim, I claim Bethesda's design is a true Dragon and that you are incorrect.
1. Western mythology says: Dragons = 4 Legs(you can say that 2 of them are arms) and 2 wings, Wyverns = 2 legs 2 wings 2. Real Life 3 - 4: Wyverns were mentioned in previous elder scrolls games so no, Bethesda made a mistake
This mod is useless. Maybe check the definition of wyvern before you go out and make a mod. A wyvern is a two-legged dragon. It is a type of dragon. Besides, this is a fictional world, wolves could be called dragons and we wouldn't worry because that is what a dragon is in the Elder Scrolls Universe.
The OP is unfounded. Works of fiction do not dictate other works of fiction, if you look at most of the authentic lore on dragons, many didn't have wings and virtually none were described with 6 appendages.
Under the most critical scrutiny, wyverns fall under a type of dragon, more authentic and vetted than the post classical western Dragon seen almost nowhere except heraldry and visions.
Most legendary dragons were not described with wings, and none were described with the popular fantasy anatomy, so the OP is flatly ignorant in his claim.
Beyond that, the only real comparison would be the dragons depicted in Oblivion, and quite simply, dragons do not have to have a single variation in anatomy.
It would be rather interesting to see a variety, from sea serpents and Lóng, to wyverns and western depictions, to hydra and land dragons, all of them are facinating, and virtually every kind of dragon has more validation than the western Dragon, even Wyverns.
