I've put about 4 or 5 hours into trying to get this preset to work. After finally being able to make it through character creation without crashing, the save crashes when attempting to load most of the time and when it does work, it will just crash randomly. Shame, really wanted this to work.
Actually a nice looking preset, but my game is crashing whenever I try to load it. I do not have apachii hairs which is probably the issue. Would you mind making a version with vanilla hair? Or is the crash related to something else?
It must be related to something else. I'm guessing it's about the skeleton or the meshes requiring certain bones. I did test with only the following mods activated: XPMSE, SevenBase replacer, Fair Skin Complexion, Race Menu, CITRUS Heads and Cherry Eyes. (all at latest version) The only thing really important to have installed is XPMSE, Race Menu and CITRUS Heads.
I'm also having issues with crashes with this preset. I installed the mods you suggested here. I can start a new game, but when I try to load the saved game it crashes, but only does this when I attempt to use this preset. It might be something else.
EDIT: Did a little testing and it seems if I edit the preset it crashes so far.
Well fun part I can load the preset on a male character but if I change the sex to female it makes me crash, still trying to figure out what the issue is so far I have added and readded all the mods and after a few of those I finally got the 12brows to be green still working on getting the Apachi hair to be green maybe then it will stop crashing :O
Edit: 12brows is from the Fair Skin Complexion Mod that gives you the option for 12 new brows xD
Okay for anyone having issues getting the preset to work here is what got mine to work I can't promise it will work on you but if you do everything I did well you are at least 1 step closer and it is at least worth the try
TL: DR? There is no shortcuts to the truth, read it if you want help with this mod. It's the best offer I can give you
1. Where to place the file from this mod. Okay so you need to first get this mod of course do as Xantesh says put it in Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\ Data\SKSE\Plugins\CharGen\Presets, now if the last 2 parts \CharGen and \Presets don't exist you may want to go inside the game and create a preset just so the CharGen document appears.
2. RaceMenu & SKSE On to the next point. Get RaceMenu and make sure it's the proper one that matches SKSE which in this case is "Beta build (1.7.2, compatible with runtime 1.9.32)" from skse.silverlock.
3. XMPS (look for the correct one in the Files section) Then you need to get the XMPS and make sure it's the one called Groovtama's XPMS Extended (version 2.6) I made the mistake of installing the wrong one and that might have been one of the issues that it made my game crash.
4. Texture/Mesh For the SeveNBase, Fair Skin and CITRUS Heads (HD Meshes) and Cherry's Eyes i just clicked the NMM botton and installed them that way. But I am going to go on a wild goose chase and say it's probably just the newest version you need.
5. Hair As for the ApachiiSkyHair well make sure it's the one for Females and not the newest ones if you scroll past all those screenshots you will come down to the one you need and that is called ApachiiSkyHairFemale_v_1_5 (version 1.5). If you have everything done like I wrote it then you shouldn't have an issue.
If you do let me know and maybe I can assist you with it, no promises as this is how I just fixed my issue. I can't know how many other mods you or anyone else is using that could be in conflict
Edit: The space at "\common\Skyrim\ Data" <--- that shouldn't be there I made it like that so it wouldn't show that stupid emoticon xD because \ and D make a emoticon here it would seem.
TIPS: It seems that changing race also helps with not crashing so choose Imperial and then choose the preset. Though Nord for some reason for me is still crashing. Will try to figure out why.
Well taking off the XPMS then putting it back on made it work again, it could also be that you just have to give RaceMenu 30 seconds or 2 min for it to "charge up" so to speak. Either way thats what made my Nord race not crash each time I loaded the Preset.
Remember to always take XPMS off and put it back on if you make any changes to character texture/mesh like say use a new SeveNBase (say "yes to all" if it prompts with overwriting, but only when putting the XPMS back on) it's what I had to do when I changed from the Bombshell BIKINI version. So always install XPMS as last or add as last and overwrite if asked.
I pretty much gave up on this as beyond my abilities. Though after a bit I had it installed with a good fit to the body (CBBE), looked nice, played well, and yes I could not enter any game save where that was loaded. Some days later I gave another try. Using Mod Organizer I saved the load list then deactivated all the mods and could again get into the game. What I found looking at my now pure vanilla character, was a head devoid of hair, but covered with warpaint and tattoos, where before was unblemished skin. I consoled showracemenu and it's (her) head instantly went to a proper plain skinned though short haired version. I popped right out without changing anything, did a new save, and exited. Back in Mod Organizer to reactivate the mod list then enter game to the save I just made. Now as the long list of mods rolls in, she comes more to resemble the original, except for the short black hair which doesn't transfer over. I believe it's Appachi 43 with the color bar cranked far right to near white. All aside, thanks for putting this up. I think it ranks well among the many follower types as an interesting look. This is an over long tale but may be of use to others with a like problem.
