Can this program not be linked to a key i.e. F8 etc? so you press F8 and it executes the file? I used one for oblivion like that, as I have win 7 and cant get out of a frozen screen to use file?

How would one open this file if the game has frozen while in full-screen?

Ctr+alt+delete works fine for me. It lets me see the bar on the bottom afterwards just hit start and click it. Skyrim seems to be the only game I can't close by just clicking close program. ;p

Wait a minute... Is this for Windows 7 or Windows 8?

You can ALT-TAB , or CTRL ALT SUPR, after, back to the start screen or start menu and open the bat.

I designed it because, if you play Skyrim in the same resolution as your desktop, it will cover all that is under the game, doesnt allowing you to click "close window" option in jump list.

edit: The bat function with windows 8 and 7 (XP too)

      I see.

In my experience, though, if Skyrim freezes while you're playing it full-screen on Windows 7, you're done. No amount of alt-tabbing or ctrl-alt-deleting will let you escape. Somehow, Skyrim's able to force Win7 to completely ignore those commands. The BAT file itself may work in WIndows 7, but I don't think Win7 users would be able to use it to escape a frozen game.

Not too hard to achieve, create a bat file, paste this line in
      taskkill /IM TESV.exe /F
Save it, place it in a new folder in your Documents folder (ie call it "tools"), then right click your windows task bar at the bottom>toolbars>new toolbar, browse to your "tools" folder click ok.
Then when the game freezes again, do a ctrl alt del, click on the tools in your taskbar, and (if you're using win 7 or 8 or 8.1) right click on your bat file>run as admin.
      Done, Skyrim closes
      Hope that help too ^.^

You not need to "run as admin" if Skyrim was launched not under admin account.

Does this work with Skyrim being launched via Mod Organizer?

I gonna investigate Mod Organizer and view if it modifies the image name (the name used in the task mananger). If mod Orgnaizer does not modify the image name of TESV.exe, the bat file will close it normally.

      @ernilandia
i wouldn't think so, since skyrim.exe is in the root folder, and MO only modifies the data folder, and when i get crashes (having launched through MO) with ALT-Tab freeze, i can tab down in (Win8.1) task manager and manually [end task] - [skyrim.exe]. some of the time...

Does it work when game is frozen ? I didn't try that yet, but I remember that console doesn't appear when game is frozen.

Thanks for this little tool. Had to edit my registry to allow me to pin the batch file to start page, but it works just fine.

Thank you for the download! I didnt have a problem putting it on the start page, but perhaps its because im using a link and not the file. After all, windows treats *.bat files in a special and very rare way. Thanks again for the download!
