Yes they come from a printing machine it''s called a printing press a very primitive form of printer.

Granted it's very expensive compared to today's methods ,but still.

What? Did you think they hand wrote all those books?

Before the printing press was invented in 1440 they did hand-write all the books.

Tbh I imagine the devs just wanted 100% clarity for players above all else. Strange hand writing or faded text would have been too hard for some people, and even worse on some TVs or monitors, or people with semi poor eyesight, etc...

@worksa7 I agree. There is immersion and there is common sense.

Hi, Fhaarkas! I love the idea of this mod, but in its current state it's way too intrusive for what it does. For example by deleting the embedded fonts it breaks the '$PrintedFont' tag. I don't know if it's used in vanilla, but some mods definitely use it, and I have an example pic here. I hope you'll find the time to solve this issue, or I can just send you my version if you're interested. Though I must admit that I have no prior experience with flash and I'm not really sure what I'm doing.=) Anyway, best regards and a deserved endorsement!

I looked at the "before" and "after" pics from the download file and put them side by side. I guess I'm not seeing the difference. Could you point out what the differences are?

Yes the difference is quite subtle . I've uploaded a 100% crop PNG comparison image to better show it (hopefully). The vanilla text has clean, deep black appearance as if it comes from some Xerox printer rather than written by hand. The mod gives a very slight transparency, a very faint dark glow to illustrate seeping ink and discolor the text a bit to make it look handwritten.

It's a minor detail but it always bothers me whenever I open up readables.

Ah yes, that pic helps a lot! Yeah it's a big difference, the vanilla looks like dark letters superimposed over the page, and yours is much nicer and more natural. Downloading now.

*falls to knees and raises hands* YES! You have NO idea how incredible the timing of this is. I was despritly looking for a mod that did this! I downloaded skyrim halfsized, the new quartersized version, and it made ALL books and notes unreadable. This is a God send for me right now.

I'm not sure how this mod could've helped since it has no paper texture included but thanks!

What other book mods is this compatible with, if any?

Most of the book mods I can find seem to touch textures and such but not book.swf. HQ textures for books and paper would be a good place to start.
