For those of you having trouble with the follower compatibility.
If you use AFT, place Viktor after in your load order. Then on Tes5edit, open up Viktors tab where it says "Dialog topic" and "Quest." Since I have AFT, it shows that Viktor is not complying in its Follow Me section. So just drag your AFT settings to this mod on both the "Quest tab," and the "Follow Me" Tab. (This by default makes AFT the Master File for Viktor.)
The reason this mod is conflicting on other reasons is 1. It was made using a default skyrim follower system (like lydia, Viktor can die and be flagged as an enemy to your own Modded followers) 2. It has a custom voice (which overrites the vanila follow me dialouge) 3. It has a custom quest (which overrites the vanila follow me dialouge)
How to prevent bugs 1. Limit down your custom voiced followers in your load order 2. try a custom follower mod like EFF or AFT 3. Have Viktor lower in your load order to prevent other mods from overriting his settings.
I would recommend an update to make this TRULY standalone. Its hard enough to have a custom voiced, but its harder when you add a custom quest per-requist. Example 1 -Lyvia the Imperial Follower.
Its not the mod authors fault, I have trouble enough using both Sofia the Funny and Throthgar to work. But if I add in another custom voiced follower that, cough Lyvia, cough, has its own quest, I risk having Throthgar not getting follow me when I open his dialogue.
I really dont know much about followers in the ck but I do know custom voiced + quest is possible. I use Sofia the funny Throthgar Recorder Song of the Green Lucian Ben the Bard and they all play nice (even though im not using AFT or Sokos Guild Starter or other mods that effect the follower dialogue quest at the moment) Viktor is amazing. He is VERY amusing and helpful in battle. He just needs more work to truly make him standalone.
Solutions Option 1 Make some much needed tweaks to your current file Option 2 copy Ben and Sofia the funny and use a unique follower system so Viktor wont need the in-game follower system. Option 3 Port this boi to SSE, asap (maybe someone can help if you open the permissions).
I'm trying out the Viktor for the first time. I was looking for an insane follower. He seems sufficiently deranged for my needs. However, after I talked to him in the Bannered Mare, and agree to go with him, he just goes back to sitting around and I can't initiate dialogue. I'm using EFF, which is working fine on Lydia. Any thoughts ?
I've tried this mod some time ago and I loved it, it's possibly one if not the very best follower mods I've tried! The amount of laughter alone is worth it, let alone the fact that this guy is an absolute badass in battle! However I seem to have encountered a bit of problem, for whatever reason the new version (The Awesome Beard Version) seems to conflict with ATF in a major way! I recently started a fresh game with him already installed and this mods was loaded after ATF, when I got my first follower (Lydia) ATF simply did not work! Then I noticed that Viktor Overrides ATF for some reason. Then I decided to load ATF after Viktor, and then porceded to try and hire him for the first time! However after the dialogue he just doesn't follow for some reason! I'm sad to say in it's current form, it just doesn't seem to work with ATF! I'm sad to say I'll have to remove him from my load order, it's a shame really!
Hey thanks for the supportive comment My voice actor (Victor) and I really appreciate reading things like this.
As far as compatibility goes, the way I created the mod was to piggyback on Skyrim's native follower setup (using this tutorial by Nichevo http://deck16.net/post/48594588747/making-a-unique-voiced-follower-in-skyrim)
I'm pretty sure the reason he is not compatible is that it overwrites something that the other follower mods like ATF or UFO need in order to function. To fix this, I need to rebuild all of the dialogue and voice clips from the ground up in its own unique code that doesn't overwrite anything native to Skyrim. That will take some time, and in addition to that, my voice actor went and joined the US Marine Corps about a year or so ago, so I won't be able to add any new lines for awhile. But now that I'm done with college, I should be able to get all the compatibility issues fixed and have this mod functioning as I originally intended.
Yeah, you couldn't speak to the Augur of Dunlain or any other type of fixed-entity like Clavicus Vile's statue. Djjohnjarvis told me that it was due to the sneak mechanic checking everyone in the room to see if they're sneaking, which crashed the game to desktop, so I got that fixed thanks to him.

first have viktor in your crosshair, then go to the MCM menu, EFF->settings->force recruitment
