If anyone has any issues please let me know a.s.a.p. and I'll work on a fix. I've tested him so he should work fine but like I said if there are any problems or bugs please report them to me and I'll try to help you out. If you want his clothes I've made for him you can get them here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/82317/?tab=description

Note: If the ECE version messes up, and his face looks wonky and wrong it's because ECE has trouble loading a face with many mods installed in your game that I don't have. So I've included saves, load them then open up racemenu and re-save over the slots and he should be working and fully adapted to your games mods and will look proper. This happens with ECE when you install many mods.

Note: If Racemenu face ever messes up and has a seam or looks wrong, load the sculpt files I've included. If that doesn't work right away then go to Nose and change it to 0, and revert him back to how I made him, that should resolve any issues and have him back to normal, that is if this ever happens.. it's pretty rare but the nose thing should resolve it indefinitely.

You've probably already been asked this before, but any chance it'll be out for Skyrim Special Edition, and if so, would it be possible to make him a follower? That's my only complaint with moving to SSE is the lack of my Link follower mod, but I just can't stand the instability with oldrim.

Hey there, ah yes! Now that Skyrim Special Edition has both ECE and Racemenu support they can be ported over. I'll try to get to it as soon as possible.
Certainly, I've actually already made a vanilla voiced version of Link and Dark Link as followers.. as standalone followers, and blonde and brunette haired variants for Link. In the future I'm likely gonna have one of my actor friends voice him for a Voiced Follower version. I hear ya, I actually play both. just wish all my texture mods were ported over then I'd stick fully with SSE.

Hello, are you still planning to port it over to SE? This preset would go great with JKalenad's Relics of Hyrule and for those who plan to start a playthrough as Link

I've been desperately hoping to see Link as a follower again in SSE! There's a ton of things that have been ported now, I'm sure with the Relics of Hyrule and the other tunic mod, he could be ported!

It appears so I wonder why they removed it. You could probably find it on Google somewhere still somewhere else. Ah that's such a shame, Xenius was such a talented mod author, one of my favorites here. Eyes of Beauty have blue eyes that look pretty good. That's the second best thing I can think of: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13722

Oh you haven't seen nothing yet! Just wait till the newest version is out! it actually puts all the old ones to shame lol. I'll try to get it up very soon! :D
As for NMM I'm not really sure if it will know where to put the Racemenu files, so I can't say.. I don't think so. Anyway thank you, I imagine you'll be quite pleased once the new one is up for both ECE and RACEMENU, and a follower will be uploaded as well at some point with his own custom clothes, and weapons. The tunic retexture you see in the screenshots I'll be releasing soon as a standalone set.

EDIT: It's been updated and Racemenu version is up, and his clothes and hats can be downloaded here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/82317/

I'm glad you got it fixed, new version of Link coming soon for ECE and a Racemenu version as well.. down the road in near future a follower mod after those are finished is to be released later on after that... follower mod is complete using the new version but needs a bit of work before release.. time of release , TBA at this time.

I recommend you track me if your wanting to catch the releases on time and if you enjoy my work please feel free to track and endorse my work. Anyway have a good day.

I have a problem, I went to username/documents/mygames/Skyrim but I didn't see any CME folder, and I have all the required mods, and tried making the CME file, but when I went to the fifth nord preset, I didn't find the Link preset. What is wrong?

Hmm odd ,okay let me see if I can help. I recall this happening on a few other forums before, try uninstalling Enhanced Character Edit or try deactivating it and re-activating it again, then re-install it through Nexus Mod Manager. It should have created a folder called CME_save in the place you specified automatically. If it doesn't create the folder right away then usually that means it isn't installed properly or isn't functioning correctly. If doing these steps does not resolve your issue. Then I would re-download Enhanced Character Edit here on the nexus. You could be using an outdated version from before Character Making Extender (CME) was integrated into ECE's software. If this doesn't work then we'll see what else we could try.

Dear Simdrew1993, I did what you said to Linkfan4's problem since I'm having the same thing. Mind helping me out please? I'd love to play as your version of Link with the Zelda Master Sword mod I have with the Hylian Shield replacer from Overmind5000 and cubeguy. It would be EXTREMLY helpful if you did a tutorial video for getting this mod, installing it, and getting it set up once you start the game and get to the setup for what your character looks like part.

Hi there thelastwerewolf98, I just noticed your comment here the system doesn't seem to notify me of every comment unfortunately. I'm sorry your having problems installing my Link preset mod. This mod is outdated and I am gonna post a new version very soon by updating this page. New version looks ten times better! As for him not working tell me what all you tried, because installing ECE preset mods is very simple,

First download Link's file manually. Go to C:\Users\Username\Documents\my games\Skyrim\CME_save
and then place Link's cme save file in that folder, folder is called CME_save, if one isn't created yet then you'll need to make one. Then download all the mods he requires and install Enhanced Character Edit mod, once they are installed start the game and either start a new save or load a preexisting one and use the showracemenu code in console using the tilde key, in racemenu click on load slot, then select Link's slot number, then he should be exactly as I made him. If not and he doesn't show up properly then that would be because you have many mods and he won't work, it's a preset issue with most ECE saves... don't worry the new version should work a lot better, and I'll include a work around save. Which you can load that save, Link will load up perfectly then you can go to racemenu and then click accept changes without changing anything it will ask to save slot, then overwrite Link's existing slot number, then he will be adapted to your mods...all of them. New version will look better and I'm gonna add saves so in case you all have different mods, you can load the save and resave over the slot and overwrite that way Link's preset will become adapted to your games mods, it's unfortunate ECE saves do this but it will be a nice simple workaround/fix. It's so much easier than it sounds and I'll try to add a picture tutorial on imgur later don't worry, and I may make videos too... But I'll definitely do an image guide as that will be easier.. track this file if you want the new version of Link, and if you enjoy later feel free to endorse, thanks. Hope this helps. : )

Hi again Seshiri! Oh yes... that reminds me would your friends be able to make this happen?

Okay...Just imagine how fun that would be! Link fighting Ganondorf in an epic battle, Princess Zelda in the background firing Auriels Bow shooting light arrows, my fearsome voice on Ganondorf threatening to kill them both along with the Dovahkiin...Or just rollin with the gang, Link, Zelda an Ganondorf to save Skyrim and face Alduin, quests, etc. Ahhh....That'd be fantastic!

Another thing that'd be great is if the Author of the Link Clothing mod alteredTheBeast would get in contact with me, really want to upload my Link Tunic Twilight Princess Redesigned of the textures, but he hasn't been online since last year so he never received my message. Don't know how to get in contact with him.

I talked to him a while ago and He said something about how easy it is to do and the is a how to forum on it. making char preset export through console spf something my npc name and loading it through creation kit and establishing it that way. I could do it since he is busy but I use racemenu and not ece I found out the hard way that they conflict. lol But I can do it since I have the instructions if you want. My problem is I don't understand packaging files for the modding community it easy to stuff things into a zip but I'm not sure where to pull all the files from. That and I wouldn't no how to link things together for compatability ece race menu so on or if its even needed. He did say if we have trouble he could do it but wants us to try it first on our own.

Ah I was afraid that this was going to happen... Ahaha, I wouldn't necessarily say that it's an easy process maybe for making a standard non custom follower but ones with custom bodies, face, hair, etc not quite unless you've got experience with it quite a bit and have lots of patience... It's easy to make a simple mistake and mess the whole project up entirely.

I have some knowledge of using creation Kit though it's fairly limited, Yes I believe the spf then Name Command saves the tints and skintone color presets to a folder but that's about it I've heard that they can't be wearing clothes when you use the spf command either because it saves clothing textures which would be bad... Is an important step.

Yeah, I learned the hard way as well because I had no idea there would be problem's between the 2. There are ways to make them compatible but to only a certain extent so it would cause some facial deformities. I think since he would be a custom follower It wouldn't matter whether you use ECE, or Racemenu since he'd be standalone, I may be wrong just speculation. If you attempt to make him a follower ECE will need to be installed and working. RaceMenu will probably need to be off at the time or it'll deform the face. But once the files are finished my guess is since he'd be standalone, ECE or Racemenu would no longer affect him because he'd be unique. So most likely anybody would be able to use either one after he's been made.

I've tried recently but got stuck. I've read most forums I could find on it, none are very detailed in my opinion. Though there is a video showing step by step what to do here this was just posted a month ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6N_4kCX3_QThere is one final step in the videos description.

As for packaging files, well that would probably be the easy part. Because the instructions to make the follower you basically put all the files needed in one folder, once finished you would just Zip it by right clicking it, or using an application called 7-Zip. Either way would be fine. If you wanna give it a go you can. Maybe we could both try it...

EDIT: I'm no longer stuck already working on it so far all the file parts for Link seem to be ok, so far! I'm working on Link and Ganondorf both at the same time following the same process for each... for Ganondorf he will be voiced if it works since I have an understanding of how to do that now. No idea when I will have this all completed yet. Just need to finish the necessary steps in Creation Kit.

So this is weird to me but I noticed that racemenu has ece preset plugins or something of the like installed so maybe they are semi compatible.

Edit: Yes when I trigger over in game (controller) in the race menu there is a ece menu morphs thing. So I wonder if it is there to make standalone followers of ece presets playable in game.

I think they may be a bit compatible just not fully... If there were an option it would be a life saver! Because I've run into many complications which is frustrating lol and from what I heard was if this is a first custom follower mod it can take up to 3 hours or more ugh. Don't think I can do that..... There has to be a more simple way to do this..... I don't want to waste hours or days for nothing because there's a big chance that it will not even work after following every step to a T anyway. Searching far and wide with no luck.

Please keep me posted if you find anything, I want this just as bad as you do. I just don't want to die of a brain malfunction in the process.

I have a solution for your hat problem use: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/2588/? for Link's clothing. It replaces fine hat with Link's hat and then use the hair under Headgear mod:http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36517/? It will add identical hats that don't cover your hair and the fine hat included in the mod will become a Link hat you can wear over your hair.

I appreciate your help not that many are courteous enough these day. I tried testing it out... Well, my expectations had exceeded me because unfortunately there was no luck. The hat sits to low and goes through most medium length hair styles unless you use buzzed hair or bald or short enough to be in that way. If it sat higher on the head it would be fine, but since it doesn't looks kinda.... awful.

EDIT: Don't worry got a new solution, if you track this file you'll see.. New solution looks great and hat problem is resolved. : )
