Hi! I think indeed that "Simpler Dragonbone weapons" is a good and needed idea ! I agree concerning katana,dai-katana,scimitar,wakizashi,tanto,nodachi (...) and all this kind of weapons, which look unrealistic for "dragon-BONES". Your choice of using Orcish style is a very good choice for this reason.
BUT I have two regrets with this "Simpler Dragonbone Weapons Pack":
1- I regret a lot that Nordic Dragonbone weapons disappeared with the rest ! (WHY ???)
Actually, I think the NORDIC VERSIONS of: ONE-HANDED SWORD, GREATSWORD, WAR AXE, at least, (and maybe even Battleaxe, Bow and Arrows ?) should be added to this mod ! These Nordic weapons could all be made from BONES: still have a "genuine and old rough style" like the orcish ones have, and are furthermore in a "Nordic style" which fits with logic (Skyrim -Nord country).
2- My second regret is the RUNES... AAarrrghhh! It looked sooooo cool with the option of glowing blue runes appearing in the dark... The choice of draconic essence to get them, (even the heart required to forge dragonbone weapons) was such a good idea !
Well, would you consider this point of view and improve your mod with Nordic style and Runes options ? Personally, I only wait for this update to download your mod instead of the 1st original one.
Hi, new user here. Some people may have said this already, but you should re-add the dragon arrows, as in history, to my knowlodge, arrows were commonly made with bones. Plus, it just feels incomplete without a sort of absolutely complete set of weapons and armor, as nearly every bow in the game has a corresponding arrow, I think. I haven't gotten pretty far yet.
EDIT: Also, take into account it's Dragon bone, which I'm sure is tougher than human-sized bones if it's supporting the weight of the massive dragons.
I'm with H3xx - everyone just reskins the Orcish stuff, along with that Daedric artifact hammer (I don't remember the name...something like Volendrung, or something). I know it would be much easier to make unique ones once the CK is out, but that hasn't stopped others from making cool, stand-alone stuff. Just look at Jaysus's swords.
Also, why not take the general design scheme from that dagger that gives Dragon Heartscales? If anything in Skyrim looks like a dragonbone weapon, it's that.
I can't wait for some dragon bone weapons to come out with custom models. all the DB mods out there use the same models with slightly different textures. Don't get me wrong, I like them, but custom work would be better imho.
