Tracking & waiting. Concept sound supercool. And for a loregeek with a book fetish such as myself, this mod will turn an item that used to be junk into a nice little random surprise.
I checked it out and printing is in fact present on Nirn. It will be included in next update, along with increased roombox, although restoring books will most likely not be press based as i am trying to base everything on real life book binding .
Just a thought, but have you considered the possibility of adding a printing press as well? There are a couple of meshes available on OblivionNexus that could be reworked for Skyrim. I think it would fit well with what you are trying to accomplish with this mod.

As to lore, it is part of the "note sure, possible as their is advanced tech around (if not widespread, at last found in some locations).
So, yes, there could be some in some place, although it was not added in Vanilla game (quite optional, still, why not ?). That said, if you add one in the gameworld, add a last a book as to the history of that breakthrough marvel, stating the obvious + fate of the inventor (..).
Then, a quest as to find ink cartridge or others = opening for more
I can't remember for sure..........its been years since I played.........but wasn't there a side quest in Morrowind that revolved around printing? I remember a mod back then where someone had added a drukenpress (gutenburg style press).
