Thank you so much for this. I would prefer a "no matching set" fix though, as i like to mix different parts of armor and this damn perk kills that freedom for me but at least using 4 pieces of same armor is better than nothing. Endorsed
When you say requires 4 items of the same armor type.. do you mean same type as far as leather, iron etc? Or are you saying it needs to be part of the same armor name? Some armor mods only have 3 items in them with no helmet.. can I add a helmet or circlet that shows in the same category (ebony, daedric etc) to get the bonus? I have an armor mod right now that has cuirass, boots, and gauntlets that the mod author put into the dragon field for crafting but the requirements to craft it are leather.. I thought it would be cool to try and get both heavy and light perks up to 70 just to see how that changes the stats lol. Thanks in advance for helping me understand. Awesome mod & endorsed!!!
VERY good idea. I never wear a helmet! Do you think if I load this after Complete Crafting Overhaul/Smithing Perks Overhaul/Weapons &Armour Fixes it will work in conjunction with those mods?
There are mods here on Nexus that allow one to craft Circlets that act as helmets. Here are the links to said mods: www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/7696 & www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34563. The first adds armored circlets for each type of armor found in the base (vanilla) game while the second adds armored circlets to the armors found in the Dawnguard/Dragonborn DLCs. I use these & have had zero issues with them at all in-game. All can be crafted via a blacksmith's forge as long as one possesses the relevant perk for each armor type. Hope this helps. Peace.
It should, but I don't use those mods, so I can't say for sure. If you try it and it doesn't work, let me know so I can put an incompatibility list for those mods.
Nice idea! Although, I use a mod to allow me to make invisible helmets here and a load of other stuff http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32999/? BUT, I think I'll try this one out as well! :3
I checked in TES5Edit and I'm a bit confused. Why does the Heavy Armor matching set also include conditions for the light armor keywords? and the Light Armor matching set only include conditions for the heavy armor keywords?
I assume those conditions are ignored since you changed the first condition. But that condition removes the "Matching set" condition and replaces it with a "Matching type".
It's so if a mod adds Light armor with the ebony keyword, you can still get the bonus for having light armor, whereas before you couldn't, because vanilla ebony is only heavy armor.
Yep. A little bit op, but then you'd have to go out of your way to get both to level 70, so it's not that op. After all, you'd sort of deserve to have that extra armor rating if you got both to 70

But i dont know if it fixes the %-amount of the perk.

I just can't download it!
