Man, I really like this mod! It's better than skeet! Got 2 doubles yesterday. Had a possible 3 happening but the chickensh23t flew off! Great work amigo Kudos and endorsed!
I have installed the "Very Common Dragons" file for this mod, but after around 200 in game hours I have not run into very many Dragons (maybe 5) outside of the ones found at shrines. If I sleep/wait a full 24-48 hours I can typically get A dragon to spawn but its not nearly as easy or common as the descriptions led me to believe. Are there only specific locations where the dragons will spawn in the open world, or do I need to be actively doing something to generate more dragons? Is it possible a value needs to be tweaked in the very common mod?
This mod changes the time it takes for the game to check, when you enter a cell, whether or not to spawn a dragon. This means that the mod will make it so you have a chance of spawning a dragon depending on the file you got from 0 days to 3 days when you enter a cell. So if you are not getting many dragons, try installing a more frequent preset or traveling to more areas to hunt dragons.
Hi, I installed the "evenmorecommondragons.esp" version, and I still haven't encountered ANY dragon since (about two weeks in game). Am I doing something wrong?
Sorry for the very late reply, make sure you have done the quests which enable dragons to spawn (killing the dragon at the whiterun tower). If that does not work, try reinstalling the mod, but make sure that the .esp file is deleted when you uninstall.
It's a joke. Cliff racers were super common and annoying, this mod basically lets dragons be the same annoyance cliff racers were. Can't go anywhere without two or three of these hovering over your head.
But I have to say that - to me at least - the dragons in the vanilla game are, while not just as frequent as the cliffracers, equally or even more annoying than the winged menaces of Morrowind. When I saw the screenshots of this mod, before reading the description, I was kinda hoping somebody took up the task and transformed my wish into reality: a mod that replaces all dragon models with cliffracers. So if you replaced the dragon models with cliffracers, that mod would be most awesome, I guess, I would even play that.
Edit: just imagine Paarthurnax and Alduin as gigantic majestic cliffracers!
How common is "common" and "moderately common"? Been looking for a mod like this for a while, ever since Bethesda implemented a patch that decreases attacks, I feel like I never see random ones anymore D:
Sorry, I'm not good at looking at my nexus page, I'm doing other stuff currently. In the default game, you have a chance to have a dragon encounter every 3 days. In moderately common you have a chance every 2 days. In common, every 1 day, and with even more common, 0 days, meaning you have a chance to spawn one at any dragon spawn.
Well, the VERY common dragons esp works... I get three to six dragons a game-day with that one. I can't cross a cell boundary without getting at least a dragon or two. The other two files don't seem to have any affect, or possibly even a NEGATIVE affect on the number of dragons.
Okay, looked at the mod in TES5Edit, figured out what it does, made a change, and tried it for a couple weeks. There's a wait global game variable it sets to 0, 1, or 2. My guess is this is the game days between a chance of dragon spawns. 0 means any time you hit a dragon spawner, you will probably get a dragon. I was getting one at almost every cell load. 1 means you get a chance of one per day. A CHANCE of one... which means that you may not get one, which leads to the appearance that it doesn't change the rate compared to the norm.
But this is a FLOATING POINT variable. It doesn't need to be 0, 1, 2, etc. I made it 0.5. So I get TWO chances per day of a dragon spawning... which means I usually see one per day, and on the odd occasion, two per day. It's just the right frequency for me. Not every cell boundary, and at least one per day. If you want three chances, edit the value to be 0.3333. Any lower than that and you're getting close to how often dragons appear with the value 0 (depending on how often you're crossing cell boundaries, which is what triggers spawns).
So my suggestion to the author is: change the three versions to use 0, 0.5, and 1 instead of 0, 1, and 2. That makes a better range than the current selection. In particular, 2 is almost indistinguishable from vanilla.

Or we could ride a Cliffracer

Also the OP should put more stock in he's Description as to what the 3 Common Dragon Files are and give more images.
