Hey everyone. I've decided to leave the Skyrim modding scene. If anyone wants to take over one or all of my mods, please let me know by private message (I get email notified). Otherwise, all of my mods are distributed with full source code in the BSA file, so feel free to alter them as you wish.
It may not zoom in and out smoothly, but it does work. Since Customizable Camera's FOV is fixed and doesn't change dynamically giving the option to set a minimum AND a maximum bypasses the compatibility issues that A Closer Look suffers from. Thanks for the mod!
My mouse wheel, by default, is used to move the camera toward or away from my character in 3rd person. I don't think I can change this setting, so how do I use the mouse wheel for zooming instead? I thought I could try assigning the zoom keys to the Forward and Back buttons that are included on my mouse, but Skyrim and this mod do not acknowledge them. Can that be changed? I can't seem to change the Zoom Reset key to anything else.
Aside from those issues, this mod shows promise lol I was able to test the zoom with some keyboard keys.
On my mouse the wheel is also a button. I can roll it back and forth for scrolling (or zoom level in Skyrim) or I can push down on it as "middle mouse button", which is what is mapped to zoom reset in my mod.
I can't say why Skyrim isn't seeing clicks from your extra mouse buttons. As a sanity test, you could try mapping one of the native Skyrim actions like " crouch" or "shout" to one of the extra mouse buttons. If it can't do that, then it is something with your setup rather than JZ.
You can always map functions for JZ to your keyboard, but I understand that might not be as convenient.
Yeah, I tried mapping my other mouse buttons to other Skyrim functions, but that didn't work, so I figure it's not your fault. However, I think I can configure my mouse driver so that the buttons correspond to keyboard keys. My mouse wheel also is clickable, and the zoom reset works when I use it, but the problem is that I cannot map the reset function to anything else, which seems like a bug with the mod. The Zoom In and Zoom Out functions are remappable.
Well, I tried mapping my Forward and Back mouse buttons to keyboard keys, but Skyrim still didn't recognize them. Can you make a small mod that allows extra buttons to work?? lol
Indeed, these day where most games (even RPG, do not see the last Dragon Age), the key options = limited, they are even some where there is no option out of the one already in (sic, console = dread).
That said, not sure how it could handled, SKSE having no (so far :p) support as to hardware, guess it is not an impossible task (they are key maps online, but then as to support even a part of the options (Trackball user here, for now, Ive also a no contact device, not used (yet) as to games (next = part of the desk as selection + typing (the current device = laser projection, close to USD 200 these days).
If it could be done = merveille, as so far, knowing how much quick key I can use, having some more options =
IF you have say a G300s Series Mouse you can store independently of Skyrim separate profiles specifically for Games themselves. I have 3 separate profiles saved in my mouse (which has an internal save feature with a non-removable recharging battery inside.) each profile can have 3 separate internal profiles for controls and the mouse has 10 buttons with LED - Profile feature - A different Color for a Different Profile! - The mouse has a cord too for easy recharging of the internal battery.
I use ALL of Jaxonz mods and so far these and an MCM Menu enabled Mod called HotKeys might help. Please pardon me Jaxonz, not advertising. I use this mod along yours and they compliment each other quite well with so far that I have tested NO incompatibilities - of course this depends on Load Order, Mod Manager etc.

If you get a chance, look at this mouse. I originally installed the key-mapping software, not sure where it went but I reinstalled last night and it works beautifully in game finally. It allows Dot settings and controls on the scroll wheel. It is a Logitech G300s Series Mouse. Corded and comes with useful LED's so when you play you can use color coded - Per Game - Per Profile - 12 Max Colors for 12 Maximum profiles per game!
It definitely gave me several different control schemes when I played as either a Hunter for Hunterborn, a Ranger type, My Hero type and hopefully soon LiveAnotherLife Alt-Start profile too. It also scans your steam directly and your games and programs directories for programs to compliment it's use with. It's an awesome mouse, I hope this either answered or added to your problem positively.
BTW Thank you Jaxonz for the great mods. I have endorsed everyone I have used so far. Thank you for making them.:-)
OOPS - I didn't see the discussion date. Pardon me for reviving a dead topic, but this can help others in their modding too.
I also cannot remap the reset button. No matter what button I push on keyboard or mouse it stays M3
I would add that since all the other hotkeys for the other five mods of yours I run including zoom work fine it is likely not on my end that only one hotkey isn't functioning.
Have just downloaded all your utility mods to try them out after seeing them reviewed on Brodual.
I was just trying out this Zoom utility and noticed something that I think may be a small bug. In the MCM menu, when I try to assign a new key for the "Zoom Reset Key Mapping", it won't let me. I can reassign the Zoom In and Zoom Out ok, just not the Zoom Reset.
I'm a total noob when it comes to scripting, but I had a quick look at the jaxonzzoommcmmenu.psc to see what it did. On line 50 you refer to it as optZoomReset but then seem to refer to ZoomRestore everywhere else. Is this a typo and perhaps the cause?
Thanks for all your hard work putting these excellent and very useful little utility mods together. They really add to the game - especially the Positioner!
[Incidentally, it looks like there is a slight glitch with the Timestamp calculation for the Named Save utility - the minutes number seems to include the total minutes for all the days too. Probably best if I make a separate post on the Named Save page.]
I get an error when loading a save with this mod :/ It is the same with Jaxonz Positioner https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4047131/MyPublic/2014-11-13_00001.jpg
I have the latest version of SKSE so why is it telling me this? I have 255 other mods active that works
[duplicating my reply from the same post @ Positioner]
While you don't say that you have SKSE 1.7.1 installed, you do say that you have the most recent version installed. SKSE was updated in July, so many people really don't have the latest version.
The warning that Positioner and Zoom show indicate that SKSE 1.7.1 is not installed on your system. It may be that SKSE is not properly installed. As a sanity check, open the command console, type GetSKSEVersion, and hit Enter. If it indeed says 1.7.1 then my mod is in error.
My mods are compiled against this version and use some of the newer features. Most mods will run just fine with older versions of SKSE.
The only place people should get SKSE from is http://skse.silverlock.org I recommend the Windows installer to make sure it is correctly set up. Many people copy the files wrong somehow.

To be seen, in any case, thanks jaxonz.

Is an MCM option possible that brings on a circular vignette like this, when activating? http://bit.ly/1KEz5Ul
Or something like this, but more dwemer-techy? http://bit.ly/1BUwBeK
Instant telescope mod without crafting/equipping etc!
I just thought we could achieve the same effect with your mod.
Version 1.0
Fixed keymapping issue for zoom reset.

It's the holidays and I will be away on travel through the new year (Santa Fe this year).
Y'all have a great time! Spend time with family if you have the opportunity.
