@Llama118: glad you like it! You might try Hvergelmir's shield retex if you haven't seen that. It's superb and really better than mine, and still has the star on the inside of the shield
I'm really torn, because silly as it may be the inside of the banded iron shield really fit in with my character, but yours is clearly superior. Downloaded it in the end though
@dragonslayer2k12: I have made some new shields, including a version without the big deer lol and I have added new normal maps and I think it def looks better. I should upload it tonight so you can see if you like Also you can check out the link I put on the description page for "Stormborn" armor as that mod page has some shields too
Hey looks like you made an update but the files listed on this site still show the same upload date? So are you still working on it or is the version number the same 4.0?
@dragonslayer2k12: thanks for the feedback - John Deer lol nice! Yeah I hate the banded shield inner insignia now when I look at it. When I come back to this it will be gone. I will probably do a blank version and one like you mentioned to match the insignia I used on the iron armor's belt which I liked and was a celtic knot. I meant to come back to this anyways as I've learned some more techniques since I made my last version that I think can help them look a lot better. There's some ugly edges and texture parts that I don't like anyways.
Hey your armor mod is great looks a lot better than the defaults and I like having new looking armor for iron makes me want to use it more often when starting a new character.
The only thing bugging me about this shield mod is the deer stuff. When using it I feel like I just stepped out of a middle ages version of bass pro shops wearing a john deer exclusive hehe:-) Can you make an optional version with no deer? Also if you could do the cecltic rune on the iron shield too that would actually be much better since it would go along with that celtic steel shield mod that is on this site, the iron celtic shield that someone else made doesn't look like iron to me it looks like steel plate and the runes are some weird blue color. Would be better to see you do a rune version only plain embossed like you have the deer.

I would love to see what you do with hide shields. I've looked at that link you recommended. The hide shields are not bad, but...hmmm. I'm personally interested to see what you could do A few minutes ago I checked all the mods you did, only to realise you did a few I'd already downloaded, hee!

This mod adds the shields as standalone versions so i you wanted to say use another shield tex for the base iron shields, you could still have my shields in game (and they offer better protection than vanilla)
@TSotP: thanks man glad you are liking them.I'm gonna be adding another version that's Imperial themed too. Yeah I can't believe the lack of cleaner iron either. I know it's just a personal taste thing but newly . Doesn't make sense to me that some iron stuff in Skyrim is rusty, and some isn't, and then you forge a brand new set of armor and it looks like crap. I like the idea of the dragonborn armor too!

My goal will be to put that in as a replacer and have the iron armor and shields that I have as my current mods be standalones that have better stats than vanilla iron. I like the lower level armors' look better and would like to wear them more of the time in game. I'll be redoing some small parts of the shield like the normal map and some of the edges I'm not satisfied with. I'll probably end up putting it all in one mod with optional uses
