I like this mod a lot. IMO it is a little more immersive and less radical than for example "No Leveled Item Rewards" (which is also a good, simple mod). I'm using the alternative Dragon Altar version to distinguish it from the normal enchanting stations and it looks pretty cool. Well done, endorsed!
Can I upgrade Dawnbreak (meridia sword) with this mod? I Always thought it was a pity that that sword became s#*! at higher lvls, when it's so good looking and pretty
The problem is that Dawnbreaker is not actually a leveled reward. It is available only in one form, there is nothing to upgrade it to. But I agree, it's a nice looking sword, and it's a pity that it becomes useless at higher levels.
In case you ever happen to come back across this, or anyone has a similar opinion, I'm rather fond of this http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/22610/?
From the mod description, it would seem that Dawnbreaker cannot be upgraded to Ekseth's versions using my mod. My mod requires different versions of the same weapon to work, whereas Ekseth's alters Dawnbreaker itself. However, if Ekseth made all three versions of Dawnbreaker available as separate weapons in a single mod, and gave permission, I could update my mod so the Altar of Ascension could upgrade Dawnbreaker to one of the superior versions, as well as switch between the different enchantments.
How about adding some of the Dawnguard quest items to this? Jiub's Locket (Impatience of a Saint quest, which needs to be completed in order to prevent a C++ Runtime Error R6025 - Pure Virtual Function Call) is a perfect example of a unique Dawnguard quest reward. Thanks.
It's a unique quest reward, but it's not leveled. There is one version of the item and you receive that regardless of your character's level. As far as I know, Dawnguard adds no leveled quest rewards.
Is it just me or since I released my Overhaul Mod ear;y last month which 2 is Named "Ascension", I have seen 3 other Mods with the Name Ascension in them
Great way to fix this stupid problem. That was something that has been bothering me for a while now, especially the Nightingale blade. Only Problem for me is that this conflicts with "Enchantment Cleanser" wich places a chest at pretty much the same spot where this table is. :/ But I can work around it by myself.
Hm, should have guessed a popular location such as Dragonsreach could cause conflicts. I only chose it for ease of access. Farengar's place is looking pretty cluttered anyway. I will probably update the mod in the near future, move the altar from Dragonsreach and place a few at different locations.
Updated the file. The altar is still at Farengar's, but it has been moved behind the large map on the right side of the room. Two more have been placed at different locations.
That would make accessing this function much easier, but the normal enchantment tables work in a different way. Mine works the same way as smithing forges, tanning racks, etc. I COULD easily make the items upgradable at one of the existing crafting stations, but swapping an enchanted sword for a better enchanted sword at a cooking pot seems kinda silly It's something that you'll do only a few times in a game anyway, I find a small number of custom enchantment tables is the simplest way to go.
