the compatibility to other werewolf overhauls in general aside -- " I don't really like the way the ability is set up, triggering on the actor if they hit that static 30% health value. Any suggestions?" -- i would suggest it having a more randomized trigger method. like say, when the player enters combat and receives damage past a certain threshold in under a set amount of time (an easy way to make this a trigger would be if the play or npc takes more then 50% of damage to their health within the first 10 seconds of entering combat, such a method would imply the strong survival instincts of there inner beast is taking over in a life-threatening situation). Or after going so many hours in game without sleep, implying that its harder to control the beast within if you don't let yourself rest every so often. there's many ways to go about this and i would recommend taking a look at werewolf overhauls that already offer a scripted randomized forced transformation such as "Moonlight Tales - Werewolf and Werebear Overhaul" if you want someone to ask for further details on how to set up a randomized trigger process.
looks like an alright mod mod so far tho here, keep up the good work, i'd like to see this become a top contender with the other werebeast overhauls out there.
Not sure if you've already metioned this or not but could it be possible to try to make this mod compadible with some add race mods or even some transform mods? I can't really use the werepanther, weredragon, or weredemon mods with this one. Also can't find any mods for the dryad race add on to turn them into a spriggian myrtron or some other giant tree thing. Would be fun to make custom wolf/spriggian hybrid mesh.
is it possible that when you make an mcm could you make it also where if people want to be a different beast or so they can change it in the mcm menu? I like the concept and I would actually try to play with this on.
You could try and pair it with the beast blood and make the werewolf transformation unique with each race, and tie it in with actually being a werewolf, or have a small mcm that allows you to pick which transformation you use when you use the werewolf transformation. Could possibly set it up to each race have an automatic quest start that allows them to obtain an alternate transformation without the skill trees, but modified stats specific for their race. The Greylight may be able to help. Most of his mods are on the steam workshop, but he has a mod that lets you obtain werebear lesser power, or it being a replacer, so you could be both, or just one that still uses your werewolf skill tree if you have dawnguard dlc.
Definitely watching this mod to see how it progresses.
The issue with making it actually part of the beast blood power is that it would become incompatible with any werewolf overhaul mod, as it would need to edit the same script.
I'm not too savvy when it comes to making quests, but maybe I'll add a spellbook to Dragonsreach so you don't have to console to obtain it. I could make the transformations have access to the skill tree, I'm just not sure how the dead body feeding would work, since only werewolves/bears actually have a feeding animation.
I haven't really been supporting this mod since release. Without outside resources, it's impossible to make this mod worthwhile. Khajits should transform into werecat's, Orcs to giant demon's, Argonians to werelizards, and so on. But with all vanilla creatures - meh, I'd rather just have plain ole werewolves. I guess I could do a loverslab release where most of the banned resources I use are available for public use.
