I haven't tried it yet, but does anyone know if this can be safely used in addition to IcePenguin's map mod? I realize this one is based on IcePenguin's, but I'm asking because I want the Solstheim map edits provided by his mod. I would assume that, theoretically, I can just have this map overwrite the other mod's files and I should get it all safely. Does anyone know if this is the case or not?
I have a question. So, I am interested in altering the Map of Skyrim in a similar fashion to this, but to create new borders of my liking, largely to reflect other mods I have added. For example, I have mods such as "Become Jarl of Ivarstatt" or "Become King of Riverhelm". As a result, I thought it would be cool to make map borders to reflect these "new" pronvinces/holds in skyrim and give them a defined territory rather than ooking like holds within holds. Anyone know how I would do this? Essentially, I would like to know how I can open/interact with the map in a way that allows me to simply draw nw borders seen on the map, and than inport than back into the game so that I will see those borders when I open it up. Thank you for any help. (PS. I am completely Green to modding this game)
Hey, sorry for the late reply. I've been on an indefinite hiatus but I just happened to see your comment and wanted to give you an answer.
The specific files that I edited for this mod can be found at data\texture\terrain\Tamriel. You may have to extract the files from the textures BSA. This folder contains a bunch large squares that, when put together, make up the map. You can edit these in any image editor. I highly recommend GIMP since it's free. I would recommend making duplicates of the files before you edit them, and then copying them back over to your data folder when you're done.
Hopefully that helps! It's been a while since I've done any modding so I'm a little rusty on everything
i can see the hold border lines even when not in map and in the distant land when looking at the mountains...not everywhere, but someplaces, so the simplified only black line maybe its not that noticeable in the distance? cuz that red line on the moutains in the distance is ugly
According to that mod's description it's compatible with A Quality World Map, so it should be compatible with this one. Simply install Enhanced Distant Terrain 2 first, and then install this one, allowing it to overwrite EDT2's files.
