At first i saw the warning in description, and comments about mod not working correctly, But after looking it seems people are missing some things here:

Boethiahs Poison Ring: Ebony mail enchant. Muffle, poison at close range, Smoke when enemys in range. Perfect mod for my use. (evil chars and black smoke work so well)

As long as i am not sneaking around this works just great xd

wish id never done the boethiah quest now..certainly wont bother next play through.

opposite to what i need so wont be using.

good luck with the mod though,

So you'd prefer a ring that just offers the muffle and poison? I believe I could make that for you if you would like that. Honestly though, the poison's 5 damage per second is so low that I think that would be very similar to just a muffle enchantment.
Remember everyone, if you have a recommendation for another ring I'd love to hear it.

What I've been after myself as an ideal is three things:

      1. reduce the effect of the particle smoke on PC vision;
      2. completely eliminate the poison effect BUT
      3. preserve the "early warning trigger" aspect of it.

I want the muffling and the early warning effect BUT less effect on vision and WITHOUT poison effect. It's beginning to look like I'm going to have to learn to do it myself, because no one mod nor even a combination seems to have accomplished all three.

CONFIRMED this doesn't work. As soon as you apply the effect of the rings to a new item the effect happens whether or not you are crouching which is really annoying. Please fix these so the effect ONLY works when you are crouching as I really would like to add this to an armor set.

Gotcha, I'll look into it. This mod was made so that you could use the enchantments for other items so I'll try to fix this.

Perhaps the trigger condition(s) are attached to the ring itself and not the enchantment, such that when disenchanted and applied to anything else the effect becomes constant because the condition(s) no longer exist?

If you installed the Mod wrong that isn't the creator's fault. Give the guy a break. If you aren't installing this using the NMM then you are doing it wrong. The only problem with this mod (I have fully confirmed the save error bug is not an issue if installed correctly) is that the ring's effects take place whether or not you are crouching. In response to the note about this not being a unique mod: Creator: I reiterate- as a solution to making this a unique mod, you should create a white version of the ring's effects. I know that may be something difficult, but if you could succeed, you would most certainly have a unique mod. There is only a single bug with this mod when it is installed correctly.

I've been using mods for years and I don't see any difficulty in installing a simple esp. (by the way using NMM can often bring troubles ...). I have of course the same problems that you mention ... The smoke effect appears as soon as I meet any ennemy. I'm almost sure that this mod uses the script of Ebony Mail and I'm trying at the moment to localize it in the CK ... I don't want to argue with anybody and I've nothing against NutellaPhreak. I DL his mod and it's my problem now. I installed it correcly though it is'nt recognized by BOSS and I'll find a way to get rid of it. Regards.

Thank you for confirming that there are no issues, aside from the bug. I made this mod because somebody requested it on the forums but I suppose I should have done a bit more searching to see if it already existed. This mod was made when I didn't know much about modding but I'm currently working on a much bigger mod that is unique and one of the spells that I've created in that mod is a much better alternative to these rings in my opinion. As for a white version, I'm not entirely sure how to do that but if I figure it out I'll definitely implement that in either this mod or the new one I'm making. Thanks again for the support.

In the gams that is the same way the ebony mail works. As soon as an enemy shows up on the radar, sneaking or not the armor's effects activate. Once you kill the enemy they disperse. I have been using the NMM for my installations for a long time now and I have drastically fixed issues by installing using the NMM, but never found any to be caused by it.

The enchantment works wether you're crouching or not, the ring works just fine though. Keep up the good work

I found disturbing the black smoke, specially when you try to use a bow, so I deleted the esp. but I can't get rid of the black smoke animation (crouching or not) ... What should I do to delete this mod completly ?...

All you should have to do is delete the .esp but if you deleted the mod while wearing the ring or while the black smoke was still on your character then it may stay their even after deleting the mod. I suppose you could try re-installing the mod, equiping and un-equiping the ring, waiting for the black smoke to fade, save, then delete the mod.

I did what you said but it doesn't work ... I used a save tool to get rid of orphan script instances and got no result with the black smoke ... I'm sorry to say that but this mod is a poison for me and it even causes CTD with other mods when deleted. It leaves dirt that I can't clean for the moment and it's really spoiling my game ...

I'm very sorry that this mod seems to be giving you issues but I can't think of any reason why it would be the cause.
Is it possible that you also downloaded some other mods around the time these issues started popping up?
Another issue may be dirty edits, which this mod has none of, but you may have other mods with dirty edits that are causing your crashes.
I have no idea why the smoke effect is persisting for you however because deleting the .esp should remove the mod.
Do you remember if you had one of the rings equipped when you first deleted the mod?
Again, I'm sorry that my mod seems to have been the cause for these issues and I'm sorry that I am not able to give you an easy solution.
I have added a warning in the description that basically tells people not to download the mod because sadly I'm unable to fix these problems.

I'm currently trying to fix the issue where, when enchanted on another item, the smoke affect is constant rather than only when crouching.
If anyone knows what my issue may be please send me a PM.
As far as I white version goes, I won't be able to do that because I don't currently have any software that would allow me to edit textures and/or meshes.
