Does this mod conflict with Moonlight Tales?

    Absolutely FAN-BLEEDING-TASTIC.
I've been waiting for something like this more a looooong time. Wolfy Werewolves!

Kinda reminds me of the 2004 Van Helsing Werewolves (greatest werewolves in cinema: BY FAR).

I can't wait to see what you come up with next... Is there like a subscribe feature for your mods?? lol

      Thank you! C:

I completely agree. Whenever I describe my favorite style of werewolf to someone, Van Hellsing is pretty much always the first thing I say. When I first saw it I remember thinking it was just the coolest thing.

Hm. Well, I know there's the tracking button that you can click on for this mod, but if you mean alerts for any mods I work on, I dunno if the site does that or not. D:

While I know the opinion is very subjective, only 3 movies I personally feel ever got werewolves right. That was "The Howling (1981)", "Bad Moon (1996)", and " Dog Soldiers (2002)".

Any other movie that attempted werewolves in my opinion failed at it including Van Helsing, and like I said opinion is subjective, my biggest gripe about the werewolf in Van Helsing was that it was CGI and lost any believability and real feeling of horror and terror unlike an actual Werewolf suit, which has pretty much been the standard for werewolf flicks for years. And I've seen enough werewolf flicks to say that Suits > CGI anyday. And While I'm not happy with no Fur on the body of the Werewolves in Dog Soldiers, I felt they at least got the head and body shape correct, that and it was a fun action packed film.

But When I think of Werewolf Flicks and my taste in werewolves, those are the 3 films I point too.

The head you made more reminded me of Dog Soldiers and Bad Moon.

Personally would like to see a version like the Howling. I know Spwned made one. But I'd like to see it with the better shaped muzzle you made.

I've actually never heard of Bad Moon and Dog Soldiers, and didn't even know about The Howling until maybe a week ago when I realized the Skyrim mod was based on it. Going on what I could google though, I see what you mean. I especially liked the face in Dog Soldiers, probably because it seemed to be the most wolf-like, haha. Admittedly Hellsing and The Wolfman are the only movies I know of offhand that I've seen with werewolves in them, with Hellsing possibly being the first movie I've ever seen werewolves in, so it kind of became my go-to. Despite that though, it's photos of real wolves that I've been using as my actual modeling reference. Also, I could try to see about including different head shapes in later versions anywho. (:

I kind of lean more toward CGI as my preference in movies, although that's probably because I'm biased due to being a 3D modeling artist. xD I usually jump on anything with good CGI even if the movie turns out to be terrible, since I like studying the eye candy. I gotta admit though, nothing really beats the feeling I get when I see something on screen and realize it wasn't some 3D composite I'm looking at, but actually a spectacular prop. Same goes for all the crazy costuming being pulled off these days. It's pretty crazy cool.

But Bad Moon and the Howling were terrible movies and the effects are dated and awful. I will never agree with people who think very fake looking furry suits are somehow more convincing than decent cgi. I'd much rather look at crappy cgi than a costume actually.

So, is this mod dead? I love the detail of Krittakitty's werewolf's face, but the snout just isn't long enough. I'd really love to see this mod continued.

love the idea of this mod only thing i see that to me will be necessary is a compatibility patch forMoonlight Tales - Werewolf and Werebear Overhaul by Brevi and Al99 if it does get one im definitely keeping this in my load order

Making this mod as compatible as possible with other werewolf mods is definitely at the top of my list. Unfortunately with this being my first real mod, I'm pretty new to this so I'm not sure how long it would take me to figure out how to get a compatibility patch made. If you're okay with a quick and dirty way for now though, I did just check my mesh with my modded version of the game (that has Moonlight Tales installed, and set to use the vanilla body) and it appeared to work fine. I just placed malebodywerewolf_1.nif into Data\meshes\actors\Werewolfbeast\Character Assets and the game started up using my mesh with MT's textures. So that could at least be a temporary option for you if you're interested.

It takes more work than that Asjure to modify meshes for Moonlight Tales. I know, I've done it on multiple times. Where you have installed the male mesh is just the default area for the vanilla mesh. Moonlight Tales does not affect that directory.

For the Male Werewolf mesh to work and use the different textures it needs to be renamed Werewolf_Vanilla.nif and installed in Data\meshes\actors\Werewolfbeast\Character Assets\MoonlightTales.

Then for the glowing eyes you'd need to delete the eyes within your mesh and use the eyes that come with Brevi's modded meshes. Also be sure to rename the glows eyes (same as what the original eyes to make it easier to remember) and renumber there position in nifscope like in the original brevi mesh. All of this is easily accomplishable in Nifscope.

be sure to save the new glow eye versions same as the original Brevi ones so moonlight Tales can find and recognize those versions.

I've done this so many times for different werewolf meshes in the past.

I could get the meshes done for you in my spare time.

Hm. I thought that was the case when I saw Moonlight Tales had its own folder for its werewolf meshes but figured I'd stick mine in Character Assets to see what happened. I must've had MT disabled or something since the game loaded mine. Makes more sense that it wouldn't be that straightforward, haha.

Well cool, good to know the proper workaround.

This doesn't appear to be working for me, Skyrim still loads Moonlight Tales vanilla model in favour of the rAWR mesh, even after renaming and replacing the model it overwrites.

Is there any other fix or am I doing something wrong? Really want to get this working with Moonlight Tales.

This is great, I have looked at just about every single werewolf mod on the nexus. Many are great in their own right but lacked something that I desired wHicham I get the feeling many wanted as well. There has been a wolf-man trend in the werewolf textures and models. I find there are many who are in fact looking for the bipedal wolf design. I think the first image in terms of where you want to go is perfect, the Van Helsing style werewolf is a think of beauty, fully furred body thicker musculature and a narrowed head and face. Have you considered a blend between the werewolf and werebear models? Might make things easier to achieve the desired affects. Either way I love where you are headed, even thought about doing the same thing myself just got to learn how...

Thank you for the feedback! I know what you mean. And I hadn't thought of trying to do some kind of blend with the werewolf and werebear. I'll have to see about playing around with that whenever I have time to get back to work on this mod again. (: Thanks for the suggestion!
