Is it possible to create a plugin, loading season textures & meshes before entering locations? Or at least checking in-game date of last savegame and marking/unmarking season mods in launcher (e.g. Seasons of Skyrim Overhaul) for next game start? Nobody will spent in one location so much time, that whole season pass. On the other hand several days (or even weeks) delay it's okay when seasons changes, so it would be "realistic" enough. I suppose it would be more simple than real-time season changing.

Not certain if you are aware, I had nearly forgotten about this project, but as of skse 1.7.1 you can change both the texture and model paths via script. ( I haven't experimented with the model change yet so it may require some tinkering )
there is a portal just outside of helgens cave exit it looks like the portal from dawnguards forgotten vale that uses the paragon gems. just be warned so far i only had time to make 1 patch of the island scripted to change seasons it was just a test to see if it would work
Ahh ok, i'll test it as soon as I get it downloaded, but two things first, why is it so large? and second does it work on time scale? so if I set time scale to like 100 times can I watch the tree change seasons really quickly?
i think the reson the file is so big is because i added a lot of tree meshes and textures that i was using to test and then i added the script as well but i can remove some later when i get an update ready to lower the size of the file. and the seasons are set to change every 24 hours and it is on a loop script
yeah this was just something i made so if someone who had a team of people who could help them they could use my script to make a changing seasons mod im probably not going to do much more myself like the title says it is a proof of concept
and i dont have the time to dedicate to modding even a smal area i can only work on this every once and a while my other mods that i just released are a lot easier and simpler than this one was because the CK is glitchy as hell on my new computer it crashes randomly
Ok so before I go to work, I wanted to let you know, I tried it out, when I entered it was summer, and everything was fine, if I waited until winter (the next day) the tree disappears and the ground right around turned to brown leaves, if I waited for summer again the leaves never turn back and the tree never reappears, the weather still alternates so I think it was a breakdown in the script handle the tree/ground.
Also I tried disabling all mods and coming back, no such luck, same thing.
ok thanks for letting me know ill check it out t least it changed one season hmm i think i might know what went wrong in the script ok ill fixt the script setup so that is doesnt interfere i think i made an error implementing the set up
i used the same exact trigger item instead of making each script trigger seperate that might be why the changing seasons only worked once and the tree i beleie dissapeared because i forgot to make it as a respawnble object so there was nothing there for the tree to change to
next update will fix that thanks for letting me know
that would be great the texture/mesh i need the most is a leaf less aspen tree for the winter season i believe the pine tree already has the required seasonal items snow covered leafless green and greenish yellow are already in the game.
i already have green and red leafed versions of the aspen as well just no leaf less atm also maybe if i could get a cleaned version of the game where there is no snow on the ground just dirt and gravel and stuff like that it would make it easier. also maybe if someone could come up with a script or a way to make the seasons change instead of my current cahnce of... system, it would help even more.
for now ill work on ground textures and plants and stuff
How do you "change mods"? I had a proof of concept a while back about adding new perk trees (you can find it on nexus) and I was changing mods with hlp command. If possible would you allow me to use your method in that mod of mine? (yet someone else is making progress in that area) Edit: I got it downloaded, I thought that you meant "changing mods" as in "changing esp files"
you need to exit the game and deactivate the mod and then activate the new mod before you start that is what i meant this system im working on is actually an in game script change that basically changes the ground to match the season the tree is a test tree because it has all seasons but isnt a part of the base game i need retextures of aspen trees for each season epecially a bare branch aspen for winter

I've been wanting something like this for a while now.
I'd love to be able to help with this, but I don't know much/anything about scripting.
But I wish you and your team the best of luck.

The bethesda forums, enbseries forums to find even more help!
I can help with the textures if needed.
