Hi guys. I know i wasnt active for a very long Time now.
Im sorry for not updating you on the current situatuion. Im not currently developing or working on any mods or playing skyrim. But the remastered edition of Skyrim is right around the corner and i really want to make sure you can use LOHS in the remastered edition and if possible also use it on your console version!
Now here are the problems im facing: I havent followed the remastered edition in any way, so i dont know what changes and/or it actually contains. I was buissy with my job and my pc was basically broken down to a point where it was only good for emails and youtube. No i got my self a nice new pc and my job is also changing. There might be more time for modding from this point on or not i cant tell by now.
What i want to do is: 1. bring LOHS over to the remastered edition in its current state as soon as possible (this requires SKSE and possibly SkyUI to get updated first!) 2. Improve to current functionality of themod if possible (its a hell pf a mess in terms of scripts and animations) 3. Add the Lanterns I mentioned back when it got first released. 4. give it a "final" release and get rid of the Beta tag.
This will require the remastered edition to launch, get stable (first few pacthes, SKSE update, SkyUI update and then the timeinvestment on my side. I cant promise this is ever going to happen. But thats what i have planned for the next few months.
Thanks so much for making this mod, it's surprising just how much it adds to the game. It's also nice not having to worry about running around in the dark looking for my horse.
Currently I'm playing with SSE, and as I know a bit about converting mods I decided to see if I could make this work with SSE. I'm happy to say that I was able to get it working well enough, and have only had one glitch so far.
The only glitch was when I was first getting the lanterns on the horses. I had just attached all three when I had to reload the save to a state before attaching the other two. The light from the lanterns were still attached the horses despite there being no lantern. Fortunately there was no item duplication issues, and ever since then, it's been working wonderfully.
As the permissions for this mod are closed, I'll provide a Google Drive link for those interested in having this for SSE. You'll need SKSE64 and SkyUI.
Here's an image in case you would like to see it functioning in my game.
Hope this works for everyone else! -Matthios
NOTE: I can't promise support for this conversion, and beyond the basics I can't really provide much support anyway as it's not my mod. If it works, wonderful, but if not, my apologies.
Thank for the access to your google drive, and for porting the mod, and it does work, but there things it seems you didn't include, ..? Like the Fomod to allow people to pick they're own brightness ? I gave you a kudo for google drive and port, after using this in skyrim, was happy to see, someone port it to sse and provide a link, so I'll just with normal set setting and hopefully Mastabenja does a full port to sse, I don't want to dick around with file myself , so any light from this mod is better than none with darker night mod ><
As it was then, so it is now: I know nothing of FOMODs. All I could really offer at the time was what I wanted to see in my game, the one option, which looks to be unspecified in my post.
I don't currently have a modding environment set up, or any knowledge of what I did to make this work at the time. Best I can say is that I can at least look into it a bit more later today, after I've gotten some rest. I might be able to provide the different options, sans fancy selection menu, but no promises.
YES, this IS compatible with both Immersive Horses and Craftable Horse Barding! My Immersive Horse is currently wearing the Hunter's/Traveler's Saddle and the lantern still attaches just fine. I imagine you might have to adjust the positioning of the lantern depending on what saddle/barding your horse is wearing, but otherwise there's no conflict!
I'm sure it's a load order issue because I used this mod last play through and didn't have a problem with it, but this time around it keeps jumping back into my hand. Very frustrating.*shakes fist* /rantoff
Figured it out! If you're using Wearable Lanterns and LOHS, make sure LOHS is after Wearable Lanterns in your load order.
Edit: And of course now that I've said that, it's acting up again. -_- I give up! XD But when you can get it on the horse, it works great! Maybe it's acting up because I tried to put it on a follower horse? hrmm..
Laughed my ass off with this mod's shorthand - LOHS. In latvian it means something along the lines of fool or ''someone he gets screwed over or should get''. In russian its just lox.
This is great. It would be cool if you could make the paper version too. It would be even cooler if these were added to some NPC horses. (Wait, do other characters even ride horses? Maybe I'll just stick with the first request...)
Also, I used this with Horse Armors for Skyrim without any problems or clipping.

I never knew how much I've needed this, till I found your mod. :)
