It's a shame this mod requires the Unofficial Skyrim Patch and not the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch. Without the Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp, your game will crash. This is probably why some people experience a crash, thinking there's something wrong with their load order or what not. Again, this looks like a really cool mod, just too bad I can't use it.
If you want to make your own weapon, I would suggest doing that, it would probably be easier than modifying this mace, disenchanting it, making it enchantable, and enchanting a different weapon.
But if you have the right mods, you should be able to mimic this enchantment after disenchanting it.
It has it's own enchantment "Mace of molag bal" enchantment.
The reason Molag Bal Mace doesn't absorb health is because it is complimentary to day vampires. Ideally you would have your absorb health spell in one hand, with the mace in the other. Then you'd be getting all three stats.
And technically it's Molags Mace, not the "vampires mace." Molag gives his mace to his champion, whoever that may be. Yes it goes well with vampires. But it is the mace of domination, taking all your magicka and stamina just leaves you with health, which quickly vanishes anyway since the mace is an ebony weapon.
I suppose I could still make a version, but I was hoping you'd give me more information than, "it's a vampires mace, therefore it should absorb health."
Adding the effect to absorb health is easy, simple, too easy.
Adding the effect and making it lore friendly, balanced, and sensible: that's a different story.
Which goes back to my original question, which you seem to have avoided is, "How would you do it?" I sincerely ask, because I want to see what your imagination has to offer for the mod.
Maybe it's because if i'm not a vampire, but still want to take allegiance to The Lord of Domination and Enslavement, then having "absorb health" enchantment will complement it. I take for example, Lord Mannimarco a necromancer. He is not a vampire, but he is the main agent of Molag Bal in Tamriel. Besides, vampires are only ONE of the creations (or maybe just a minion) of Molag Bal, so they are not (and should not be) the only faction which get full careness and attention from Molag Bal.
I think by making the mace only complementable to vampires is kind of "unfair". And it will throw a further question which is "How would the slaves (or agents) of Molag Bal will be loyal to him if he only gives the unique weapon (mace of Molag Bal) only complementable for vampires?"
In other hand, Molag Bal has a nickname "Harvester of Souls". And i think "absorbing health" is kind of "harvesting" souls. So his nickname will completely suit with "absorb health" enchantment.
Based on these, as a consideration, maybe you can make it so that the weapon will have "absorb stamina" + "absorb magicka" + "soul trap" enchantments if being used by vampires, and have the same enchantments PLUS "absorb health" enchantment if being used by other than vampires. So it's a weapon with TWO features (being held by vampires or non-vampires).
And worry not, because the only one who can hold this weapon is The Champion of Molag Bal, not just some unknown stranger guy who don't even know who Molag Bal is. He/she simply will not be able to awaken the mace power, unless he/she devotes his loyalty to Molag Bal as his Champion. And no, why would Molag Bal give his unique weapon to someone who is not his Champion? lol
And the last, sorry for my bad English since it's not my native language. Hope you can consider this.
I think I can work with this. Perhaps I can add a little health absorb to it. Not as much as stamina and magicka, but a little should suffice.
might add more blood splatter too the FX if I do.
I'll release a new version of this when I go back to modding skyrim again. I'm taking a break from skyrim for a while to catch up on my other games. (limited HD space and all, but i'll come back to skyrim again.)
Unless tales of argonia is released in my lifetime. Then I'll just switch to that.
Sure, take your time. And i agree with the amount of health absorb not as much as stamina and magicka. Will wait for the new version because i couldn't find a great and suitable enchantment for mace of Molag Bal until i found this mod recently
I'll be updating the Mace of Molag Ball soon, once I'm done play-testing with my argonian knight.
My mage character is the one whom usually uses the mace, so I'm just taking my time till i encounter more gameplay with it. Plus I'm doing more of my exploring on eastmarch side.

YOUR MACE has been updated.
The update includes:
Free Health Care
Screaming
Slight Damage Buff
Slight Speed Nerf
More drama
and
No Crashing!
IDK why, it shouldn't use any of the patches. I don't work on it with patches enabled.
it brought tears to my eye...I MEAN my, my enemies eyes!! yeah, yeah that's it...
I'll be editing the description again when I update it. Maybe I'll throw in some more jokes lol.
Or in this case, more doom.
lol
I've never found a reason to disenchant it.

Do you know how I could make it compatible with legendary edition and why it differs?
Took a break for a while after I finished the multiple versions, but I'll see what I can do about absorb health.
Can you give me a compelling reason to do so?
How would you do it?
